GAP are really sticky about you doing their assessments alone.Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -

I can see no reason why it would make any difference.....
..... however, I remember a story posted on here of somebody who did this, I think at the GAP burger job, and GAP told them they hadn't gone in alone so they wouldn't get paid.Dan

I've done Chicken Drive Thru's with other people in the car, but not done one in store.
It's worth noting that I've done a Burger job not being alone (I met a friend just outside once who insisted on coming in with me). I was identified by the store, who said that I was with a friend, and I still got paid. HOWEVER, I was AMAZED I did get paid and wouldn't recommend risking it.TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

You can do the chicken place with other people - at least for the drive thru. Of course I would always recommend checking the notes in case things have changed, but in the past it's always been ok. However, the golden arches place I believe you have to do alone.Hi. I've been MSing for a couple of moths now, but something still makes me wonder. I've only done 10 or so jobs, but using the spreadsheet for accounts, I am coming across as making a loss. This doesn't bother me because I like doing it, and petrol doesn't cost 40p per mile ;-)
I'm just wandering if many other people come acorss on paper as a loss? The reason I'm asking, is becuase a few jobs I would like, are about 20 miles away, and so would cost £16 in fuel there and back, on paper. I wouldn't be getting that much for the job. Like I say, I would like the job because I would get £15 worth of goodies. And it doesn;t bother me if I'm at loss. I'm just curious as to what happens at the end of the year if I'm on a loss on paper?
The 40p per mile does not just cover the petrol, it's also a contribution to your insurance and road tax and wear and tear on the car. On my tax return I showed a small profit. In the past though, when hubby had a part time business on the side, I did his tax return and he always made a loss. Never had a query on it from the tax people.0 -
The new hubbie forgot to bring money for the scramble and had to borrow off my dad. His crack was "Jeez just married and borrowing money off me already."
:rotfl:That takes me back a bit :rotfl:(suspect a lot of people haven't a clue what we are talking about!). I used to frequent 2 local churches on a Sat - made a fortune (thinks - wonder if they still do it - maybe time to move back to Scotland - the size I am now I could just sit on the money & wait till all the kids had gone. Easier than a GAP questionnaire :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

This was discussed quite recently.
I got a tug from the tax people and was asked why I was doing these jobs and making a loss.
My answer was it's just a hobby.
I spend a lot of money on golf for example but don't get anything back financially. Same for misery shopping, it's just my little hobby.
They were quite happy with that answer.0 -

Best not to for two reasons.
First, if you are just starting out it's a good idead to do everything by the book and create a good image and reputation. That way you start to get offered the good jobs sooner.
Secondly, if there is any dispute over your report they start looking at the cctv pictures and if you have someone with you they will say you couldn't be concentrating, were distracted, etc etc. remember that the timings have to be to the second.0
