    Great paragraphs:D

Y'know what Blindman? You are rude. Go away and vent to someone else instead of picking apart peoiple's grammer, signatures and everything else.
Martins says there is no such thing as a stupid quesion, and courtesy helps - well you wouldn't know that was the board ethos by looking at your posts. Go back to your 'other board' since we are all crap and rubbish and annoying etc
  • Re the monthly challenge , I agree with the others that I joined in to be part of the community here , the same as with this thread ..... I have now cancelled this thread from my subscriptions .... but will still come on and read it no doubt , tbh. I will endeavour to help out people via PM if needed.
Its a shame that lots of things have changed here over the past months that I have been reading and posting .... there are quite a few of the most kind and helpful people missing from here now which is such a shame . To be honest the last straw this morning has been the comment about paragraphs ... for goodness sake this is a message forum not an English test (or MS report) .
For the posters who have made suggestions about how the monthly challenge should be then I look forward to seeing your new challenge/s for August, I will join in for my own incentive.

Ok, I am convinced and have removed my targets / earnings from my sig.

I do not want people to get the idea that MSing is an easy way to earn loads of cash for very little effort - it is not as we know.

    xx

Hi Truly just let me know on the challenge thread if you want me to remove you from there.
  • Thank you Thank you Thank you!

This is exactly how I feel about it and I'm glad I'm not the only one ... I was beginning to feel like I was being crazy! :p

Maybe we are just both crazy ....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You know, I only joined in with this thread in March this year and in the short time since then its tone has changed drastically.

I found it, until very recently, the most helpful and supportive place for anyone who needed help in starting MSing.

It seems that there are a sizeable minority who spend their time slating others or taking offence or taking things personally nowadays.

    Blindman,

I dont come on here to read patronising posts that are trying to show you up as a big man, trying to make some of us here feel small.

Regardless of how long you have been here or how much experience you have, you need some training in how to speak to people!

I would recommend that, if you cannot hold your tongue, you use the door and leave the forum, which would then enable us lot who are nice to each other to continue to use the thread for its intended purposes.

You obviously can't recognise a debate about alternate opinions.

I believe the signatures are a misconceived advert and really have no place in this thread. Others obviously have different opinions.

I find it easier to read posts when they are in paragraphs, I'm sure others do too. I don't comment on their spelling etc.

I also don't tell people to leave, but do advise thenm that there are more mature, serious forums about MSing. :D

It was advice as in order to get your voice heard it's a good idea to comminicate well.

I'm not advertising my target -
It's in every post you make :D

I think its very telling about what your priorities are in posting on here by the simple fact that you decide only to comment on the trivial aesthetic aspects on my post in order to rile me and choose to not respond to any of my points.

I could just as easily comment on your own spelling, but it is unnecessary and not condusive to the thread conversation. If there is any way of blocking someone on this forum, would someone please kindly tell me how?!

    Blindman,

I, along with a few others, find your posts to be very immature and just damn right unnecessary.

Is it possible for you to grow up, or is that asking too much?

That's not such good news. You're in Glasgow, right?

I have a lot booked I can release some. Send me a message

Firstly, commiserations to Drea and hubby. I was made redundant a few years ago and although we could manage financially at the time, it really knocked my confidence. I hope you get something sorted out soon as it's a rotten situation to be in.

Secondly, what a lovely thing for Scotsbob to suggest! I think this kind of attitude really shows the best of this forum - the vast majority of people on here are lovely and caring, and this is an excellent example of it.

Thanks also to fabsaver who did something similar for me not too long ago ;)

Anyone thinking they will get rich will only stick at MS for a month or two at the most, then they will find something else.

For many people £200 a month could be the difference between financial survival and getting into debt.

For someone just made redundant, for a single parent struggling to bring up a kiddie, for a pensioner struggling to get by, for someone desperate to keep out of the clutches of a money lender, £200 could make a huge difference.

Even in a really good month, with lots of jobs I might get £250 -300 that might just pay my bar tab for a weekend. For someone else here, it's a months bills paid.

People Mystery Shop for different reasons. Some to make a bit extra for a holiday or a luxury, some do it as a hobby to keep occupied, some do it for a bit of fun. However a lot of people are doing it to keep their head above water and if they need help a forum like this is where they will come.

If someone is struggling to get by financially and comes here needing help I'm not going to refuse them.

Couldn't agree more. I started MSing last year as we'd got to the stage where we had to dig into our (meagre) savings every month and were gradually sinking. That £100-200 per month I was able to earn was fantastic and really was the difference between managing and going under.

I'm really lucky now because I've managed to find a part-time job (was getting so depressed at all the rejections but I guess it's the same for everyone at the moment, just too much competition). I'm continuing to do a little MSing now but it's probably only bringing in about £50 per month. To be honest, I guess I'm scared the job won't work out and want to keep my hand in, but I don't have the same amount of time available to me now. Also, I miss loads of jobs because it seems most companies release the jobs when I'm at work

Anyway, I'm waffling. I just wanted to agree it's not a well paid occupation but if you have no money coming in it can really help.

Ooh and before I forget, another BIG thank you to TG because look.... I've managed to use the multi-quote thanks to your advice! :j

I really apologise for getting caught up in something that made you both feel like this. My earlier post was simply meant to be a conversational response to the idea of the MS challenge signatures and I didn't for the life of me anticipate that I would be attacked for my lack of paragraphs or that it would turn into this. I thought I was just taking part in the conversation, but I can't abide people who act as though they are above others for whatever reason and try to Lord it about. For my part, I felt as though I had to defend myself.

I am very sorry to have been part of creating that bad atmosphere and I hope that it can be cleared now. :o
