Hardly dare ask this... but can anyone tell me anything about The Office (not the David Brent one ;))... I tried to check it out a couple of days ago and it looked all weird and didn't even appear to be about MSing. I tried to read a couple of sample threads to see how it all worked and I couldn't get into them.

I freely admit this is my fault - I am not at all technical and in fact take a certain twisted pride in my status as the Board Luddite, so I wonder if anyone would please tell me how to find the right bit, and whether it would be of use to me. I mean, is it like a private group so you can speak more openly than you can on here? Is work advertised there that I may not get through here?

    Thanks

I'm sure Taggie (IIRC) will be along to explain.

I assume you have a log in for it?

It is a more organised and moderated forum than this one

Some work available soley appears on there, as some MS reps post directly.

If you are serious about MSing and don't want the chat\inane questions and rudeness  then sign up to the Office.

I honestly don't know why some people have such a down on RE. I really like them -if I felt like you did I'd simply not accept jobs from them-it's nbot like they are the only MS company out there. They aren't perfect-I had an issue with them on Monday-but it all got sorted out although it delayed me so I called them and they rescheduled the job for later than the brief stated days as I didn't have time to do it that day. No drama -no moaning-unlike some MS companies.
I love working for R.E, its only that 1 client i find i dont like doing. R.E are one of my favourite companies too.

No I don't have a log in. I popped over to see what it was like... I didn't have a proper link, just googled it so it may not have even been the right place anyway. But I couldn't get into any threads to see what it was like and if it would suit me, so I haven't registered.

Just wondering about people's experiences when it says to take a picture of the shop....does anyone ever get asked why they're taking photos of a particular shop? If so, what do you tell them?? I've got my first photo one this weekend, in quite a small shopping arcade so it's going to be fairly obvious!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've never been asked -got a few odd looks though. As it's after the shop I don't worry excessively about the shop staff seeing me do it though I try to be discreet. Couple of weeks ago a centre security guard watched me do it-and didn't bat an eyelid.

If you feel self conscious doing it then the easiest way is with a mobile phone It just looks as though you are texting. I always take the pic from the other side of the street then it's not so obvious to the shop staff.

Or take it at an angle, i.e so that you're out of view of the shop you've visited but can still capture the shop in the pic.
