help! i have just had through supermarket notes for TNS visits. These are supermarkets and not smaller stores (apart from one that is in a city centre) and I have 9 to do. I have no idea what I am reading

(this is all made up as a scenario so someone can explain to me what I should be doing)

For example if I had counters I had to vist as:
    grocery
    pizza counter
    toiletries

and then my shopping list has among other items:
spinach and ricotta pizza (in store pizza counter)
spinach and ricotta pizza (pre packed item)

does this mean if store does not have a pizza counter you buy the pre packed instead?

also for the stores where I have not been told to buy a pizza do i ignore the shopping list?

Sorry about this but I am very very confused as to what to do. I have printed out all the sheets I need and I have read them - I am thinking 9 stores is not helping as they all have completely different counters and most do not have the ones I am supposed to check. Also how long to we spend in stores if they are smaller?

if any experts also doing this months scenario could help me or pm me that would be fantastic - I hope I am not the only newbie idiot :D I have been thrown as half the things on the shopping list I dont eat and the counters are not on my lists, also if we have a set figure to spend can we buy other items not on shopping list as at most of my stores I am going to be way under from the list I have?
The shopping list on TNS supermarkets is NOT things that you have to buy, it is a list of points to help you do the job correctly. You can buy anything you like.
I don't have any jobs for them this month, but from memory. Follow the link in your email and you will get a list of departments in this store. These are the departmetns you have to visit.
Use the questionnaire and the briefing notes to work out what you have to do in each department. It might be ask a question, it might be to check if a certain product/s are present and their quality. It might be both of these two tasks.
The printable questionaire is very confusing and I usually more or less ignore it having done a few of these jobs.
Once you have gone through this you can then see how the shopping list will help. It might be worth writing a few extra notes on it too. The task at customer services is not usually on the shopping list, for example.

PM me if you have any other questions!

You know on the underground gap shops... can anyone PM the meaning of Q12 (Did the staff member ask if you wanted "xxxxxxxxxxxxx" in Part B. I'm concerned I might be marking down on it as I've never had anyone say those specific words.

Question 12 in my report is "Did the staff member who constructed your sandwich ask if you were happy with it before they wrapped it up?"

Do you mean question 9? Because that is refering to the size of the sandwich - the one quoted in the question is the larger size, so if you have never heard anyone say it, then either you are always getting huge sandwiches or you're getting the regular size and none of the staff have yet tried to upsell to you.

but that would mean if you took one to do on the 30th july-3rd august and you have to do 2nd questionnaire you would not be able to complete any as that one has to be done prior to those dates - how confusing! do they answer emails at the weekend?

thanks - if anyone has already done this months it would be a great help to hear from you. i understand it a bit more from this which is great but its this bit that I still have problems with Follow the link in your email and you will get a list of departments in this store. These are the departmetns you have to visit. my problem with that is for example with one of them it states there are 9 departments in the store and then it lists 2 that I need to visit. So do I just do the 2. also with most of them the choices it states I have to do do not appear on the lost of what departments are in the store so how can I do them

for example store has (im using pets as a different scenario here):

    store has:
    dog food
    cat food
    rodent food
    toy section

    sections you have to visit:
    animal section
    fish section

how would you be able to do the 2 if they are not actually in the store? sorry I am so confused  i thought these would be easy.

I am now also worried about payment as in the notes when I took jobs there were figures for fees and fuel. then sections to cover purchases, food and other costs. I took those 3 figures to mean what I would get but now reading these notes I do not think this is the case and I will now not even break even for many of these jobs :( anyone else know what you definitely receive for this month? please pm me :)

Oh right - I had that on a previous questionnaire last week.

"The works" means you get everything from the salad section. Sometimes they go through every item saying do you want peppers, do you want ollives, what about this, pointing at each bowl - takes forever!
