Yeah definitely, some people have said on here that it has helped them. The broader your search terms and the more postcodes you have the more you're going to be able to see so it can't hurt. :)

Just gone into RE and broadend my visits to within 50 miles of my postcodes (although I dont know how realistic this is!) and added a few more towns. Hope fully, this should bring up a few more options for me, otherwise I will remain on probation FOR EVER!

Now that just leaves ABAi, GR, OC, TNS, GAP....should I go on?

Just had my first call from Gap!! They weren't offering anything to me though, just calling about an email I'd sent about not being able to Express my assignment (having since realised I'd done the assignment in the wrong time!). I explained this and said I've rescheduled the assignment for tomorrow to complete it correctly.

Didn't ask about the video coffee shops though! Should have done, but I was worried it'd be a bit rude! Ha ha.

Don't worry I'm totally sure you will get some jobs come up soon, it just seems with mystery shopping from my experience that when you first begin there is just nothing around and it can get so frustrating when all you want to do is start shopping! But for me I was just patient for a week or two and now my jobs are definitely starting to pick up and I'm seeing more and getting more; as for the other companies I really like GR although there doesn't seem to be too many jobs on there and ABAi have good fees but again I haven't gotten one job for them yet and GAP there's usually loads on there but the fees are quite low compared to some other MS companies, I'm not too keen on TNS, I only ever seem to see Supermarket ones that aren't in my area but I think a lot of that is to do with my age! :rotfl: Umm yes and I don't know about OC as I signed up like 2 weeks ago and haven't heard any thing back!

I'd tried GFK though, they're fees are good and there seems to be quite a few jobs that come up on there and also BARE have some good jobs now and again too.

Sorry for the ramble there just thought I'd give you all the information and experience that I have! :rotfl:

OC is my favourite so far, I've done two jobs with them and they were quite easy. Good starters in my opinion. I've just had my little envelope for ABAi this week, so I'm very happy with them also. Cant get on with GFK cos they aren't recruiting in my area at the mo, but will keep trying. I find the ones with TNS are too constraining for me - there's always something to stop my applying, like times and dates, gender etc.

I could apply for a couple of car circuits with BARE but I dont feel too confident, especially with my lack of experience. Hopefully something will come up soon, I'm hoping the next wave of jobs will be just up my street (literally! lol!)

I'm afraid as an "old-timer" I have to agree with Taggie (who has been around a while and posted some useful info, albeit sporadically) and bankypanky.

I don't think it's acceptable to make up the Tern trial report - ok, it doesn't affect anyone's job, but it doesn't say much for people's integrity that they're prepared to lie and I don't think that we should be encouraging people to lie either by making it up.

I very much doubt jellybelly's posts will be removed and I don't find anything wrong with them.

So, I'm sticking up for you Taggie and apologies to anyone who didn't want it bringing up again, but I've been out at work all day and I don't think this precludes me from responding.
  • I don't make up my test reports either and would strongly advise others to do the same. I feel it gives an edge and will heighten your chances of being recruited by companies that aren't FFF.

Saying that a report is 'made up' or 'modified' whether it's for a test job or a real one isn't going to do any favours to the 'Mystery Shopper Image'. Taggie came across here from The Office to try to protect all of our backsides, especially at a time when companies are considering their financial position quite carefully.

I'm sure you all know anyone can read this including companies making decisions about maintaining mystery shopping contracts. Seeing something like this could make or break it or perhaps make them decide to go to an agency that isn't FFF that just anybody could apply for.

I'm very sorry if this offends anybody but we have to think of the long term and not just making a quick buck for ourselves.

Can all the sanctimonious people just get back to their usual forum please. It is ridiculous to not post for a year and a half, then just pop in to have a go at us.

Well I have a question for you now! With OC what happened after you applied? As they said they would e mail me with jobs I think but I still haven't heard any thing from them.

As for GFK just pop in a different postcode to where you live and they'll accept you and once you've been accepted just put in your home address instead. That's what I've done as have other people on the forum and I'm getting jobs with them. :)
