    Hello

I have just purchased 10 organic strawberry plants to grow in pots and need some advice (paid £5.00 by the way, does this seem reasonable?)

This is my very first year at trying to grow anything and I'm worried that I have bought them too early?? Im in Yorkshire? If so what should I do with them?

Also the variety is Marshmallow....Are these any good?

    thankyou x

    Hi Ellas,

strawberry Marshmellow from Marshalls? One of my favourite varieties!

Strawberry plants are hardy, and as long as these have not been grown in a greenhouse (pretty unlikely), you can plant them straight out in the garden, about 18 inches apart, or in a pot.

    Enjoy!

Just a quick reminder for new Gardeners. Anyone growing plants in plastic cups and containers.
Dont forget to punch some holes in the bottom for drainage,so the plants dont get waterlogged.
please forgive me for jumping in.

I've bought my sweet pea seeds and gathered together my toilet roll inners.....

please can anyone help with where I should keep them whilst they germinate. They are too tall for my windowsill germinator. Would a box do? (covered with a plastic bag?)

    Thanks

    Hi Wayne

Sounds fine to me, but check the seed packets to see whether your propagators would be best off in a warm/light/dark/sunny/shady place. The best place will depend on what you are growing.

Don't worry - mine were the same :). I had toms going well after two weeks but the chillies took about 3 weeks or so to come up and I was wondering if I'd kill them, but they're doing great now. So I'd say give it another couple of weeks :)
