Refund for a computer game..

Hi,
Was wondering if someone could please give me some advice.
I am planning on buying the new Sims 3 game. I have been researching into it a lot and reviews are varied. A lot of people are saying that the game has been crashing their computers, running slow, the graphics aren't performing at its best etc... despite their systems exceeding the recommended specs of the game.
On the other hand, some reviews are saying it's working like a dream.
So, I'm planning on buying from Asda as it's the cheapest price around at the moment. My system exceeds what the manufacturer recommends for the game. If I was to buy it, and it doesn't work... would I be entitled to a full refund from the shop?
Advice appreciated. x

Nope you probably wont be entitled to a refund. Most shops dont do this due to PC Game Piracy, Which people where buying games, ripping it, then uploading it to the internet. So they might not offer you a refund.0

Yeah I thought of that issue. But surely because the manufacturer has stated it's specifications and if the game doesn't work despite meeting these specs it's an inaccurate description?0

no refunds on pc games. its the same in every game shopTarget Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I'm sure the manufacturer will bring out a patch soon to cure all the issues with the game, They usually do.0

That is so obviously illegal.
'No refunds on pc games. Statutory rights not affected.' would be legal.
If a game does not work and you can show that your system is up to spec. on all accounts then a retailer would not be able to refuse a refund.0 -
They dont refund PC games, Gamestation dont do it, Neither does game. They dont have to offer a refund.
EDIT: They can refuse a refund under the terms that its easy enough to copy a game then take it back for a refund, Which is the very reason they stopped PC game refunds.0 -

A companies terms can't void your rights no matter what the product is. Sure you cant send a game back if there is nothing wrong with it but if it doesnt work, and you have higher specifications than the game stated you should be able to get a refund no problem.0 -
They always told me at the counter it was non-returnable, Maybe if its faulty theyl'll refund it, But if you dont like it/your PC isnt up to spec, Then I think they can refuse.0

This must be a new thing as about 6 weeks ago I bought a PC game and exchanged it because I didn't like it. Gamestation have a 7 (or is it10) day no quibble exchange. This has been offered for years.
It's only a game
