Sorry, just needed to clarify, I have set up another account.

So even if DH's bills are in his name only (credit card for example) we can still set up the DDM to take from the account in my name?

    Thanks :)

Yes, my OH used to pay his 'food and board' money to my mum as a monthly payment onto her CC, so there is no hassle in doing this.

    Hi

My DH sounds very much like yours, but he got himself into trouble debt wise before we met. I found his unopened credit card bills under his bed!!!! Needless to say sorted all that out before we moved in together. Now I have complete control money wise. I worked out the bills, plus car maintence etc, food and diesel - basically our total outgoings. Looked at DH wages and we worked out what a reasonable amount would be for lunches, night outs, ciggys (only thing made him give up was me getting preggers and only having 1 income for a while). So then he set up a standing order for all his money bar his spending money to go into my account. Once its in my account, I pay all the bills (dd or cash) and put the rest into a savings account so our savings grow nicely. Oh and we also transferred his account to electon where you cant go overdrawn.
