If it looks ok it probably is . Sometimes they separate. I have nailvarnish as old as that and its fine. :)

    Thank you!

It's like Chanel's Rouge Noir, one of those colours that was really fashionable, went out, came back in & is hovering on the edges again now!!

Can I ask how long nail varnish will last? I found a bottle of Lancome very dark red polish bought when I went on a family skiing trip to Andorra in 1997 (:o) last night......it hasn't been used very much (I probably thought it was too expensive to use :p) ....... will it have survived?! It looks ok.....

Seriously though, as I don't keep my nail polish in the fridge how long will it last?

i think so long as the polish isn't gloopy and hard to apply then it's ok to use - if it's gloopy it;s a pain to apply and to wait for it to dry- which usually happens by the time you get to 60% of the way to the end because of its exposure to the air when its opened x times.

i wonder if we ever get to finish a polish completely before it gets gloopy? i think the best way to store them is in a cool dark place.

Make up is like clothes, I have a big bag of it but only use a small percentage of it - did clear it out until my Man brough me a load of stuff over that she had rescued from my cousins so now I have loads:rolleyes: and I must admit I am a bit minimalist but don't want to just throw it all out:rolleyes: I have macsaras in about 5 shades of blue/ green/ turquoise etc but only really ever use the black - but then its virgin vie and they did cost a bit - my best item at the mo is a benefit lipgloss bought for me from the US I love it but its nearly gone:(

You can always add hairspray to it to 'ungloop' it, works a treat!!!

This thread had scared me a little – i thought i did quite well with my make up and not having to much. Its normally split three ways. All the use once/unused products are kept in the cupboard in a huge box. Stuff like glitter shadows, neon colours and carp stuff i use once but don't want to chuck. (also sometimes summer/winter stuff as my skin changes)
I then have my everyday stuff – listed below. I wear pretty much all this a least one a week, dependant on what colours i am wearing, ow my skin is, how dressy the occasion is and whether i’m going for glasses or contacts.

    I X Maybelline Liquid Foundation
    I X Maybelline Mousse Foundation
1 X Max Factor Colour Adapt Foundation
I X Wet And Wild Tinted Moisturiser
    I X Collection 2000 Pressed Powder
    2 X Boots No7 Highlights Powder (Orange/Pink)
1 X Bourjois Bronzer (The Chocolate One)
    I X Touche Eclat
    1 X No7 Stick Concealer
    1 X Avon Highlighting Base
    1 X Avon Higlighting Pearls
12 X Individual Eyeshadow Pots (No7, Prestige, Hard Candy)
5 X Double Eyeshadow Pots (No7, Eliz Arden, Clinique
    4 X Quad Eyeshadow Pots (Clinique, No7)
    1 X Set Containing About 12-15 Eyeshadow, 3 Blushers, 1 Highlighter
    4 X Twisty Stick Eyliners In Black / Blue / Brown / Plum (Revlon/Avon)
5 X Hard Kohl Pencils (Black, Green, Purple, And Bright Green And Purple (Gosh, No7)
I X Liquid Eyeliner In Black (Max Factor)
    2 X Blushers
    5 X Mascara All Black (Blinc / No7 / Max Factor / Clinique / Loreal)
4 Lipliners In Nude, Plum, Red And Different Red (No7)
About 30 Lipsticks, Glosses, Lip Inks.

Finally I have the make up in my hand bag

    1 X Touche Eclat
    1 X Pressed Powder (No7)
    1 X Multiple For Eyes/Cheeks/Lips (ELF)
1 X Stubby Eyeliner In Black (Max Factor)
1 X Mini Sized Black Mascara (Clinique)
    1 X Blusher Filled Brush (17)
    1 X Tinted Lip Balm (EA 8hour)
    1 X Lip Gloss (Clinique)

Don’t you lot all get bored wearing the same thing every day? I love changing my make-up like my clothes!
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler
  • wow amyb that's some list!!!! But if you wear it why not!!

Okay my clear out is complete, one full asda carrier bag full of tat in the wheelie bin. I daren't add up how much it cost. A few new bits kept aside to give to little sis.

    What i'm left with:

Clinique superfit foundation, nearly all used, so on my shopping list!!1
Collection 2000 face powder(actually a bit manky, but havn't got another one) this will be replaced next trip to boots.

    Touche eclat conceler

Christian dior two colour eyeshadow, absoloutly perfect colours, worn everyday (new)

Beauty uk liquid eyeliner black (new)

    maybelline mascara black (new)

clinique pinky blusher (old and needs replacing)

Eyebrow kit (£ shop, fab!!) (new)

3 jucy tubes, nude, pinky, reddy.

    tweezerman tweezers (new )

All of the above is used everyday, so i'm gonna keep this as my 'capsule'. I do need a couple of night time eyeshadows, so need to think about this.
I now have a spare drawer in my chest of drawers:T I'm gonna put my holiday clothes in it, instead of the suitcase under the bed.

    Next is toiletries.........................

    Be back with an update.

P.s any recommendations for a face powder?? My skin is oily and fair??

    Hi Sharron

Well done on clearing a drawer out I cant wait for you to start on the toiletries. I did mine about 2 years ago and it felt great :)

I dont wear that much make up, but I am looking for the perfect mascara. I think I've already found it but I just can't help buying another one just in case :o

    My capsule make up:
Origins tinted moisturer (now discontinued, v upset about that)
    Bourjois Reboosting foundation
    Bourjois pressed powder
Almay concealer (so ancient I cant remember when I bought it )
    Benefit dandelion
3 khol pencils in different colours
    Maybelline Define a Lash
L'oreal glam shine cream & glam shine gloss

    Roll on the toiletries!

    SSL xx
