I think the shade you're after is from early 1980's (when I was selling Avon during my A levels).

Oh :( I don't suppose there is anyone who sells old avon then?
ROFL. Funny, I never saw my mother as an Avon wearer! But its very possible. :)

newlywed thats almost the colour, exactly, but thi has ade me thing maybe I need a trip to Nars/Mac stands. I'm also going through duty free next week, so maybe I'll have a look then.

I tend to buy make up as I need it and at the most will have two mascaras on the go. Everything gets replaced more or less once a yearThis is what I have:

    No17 illuminating foundation
Chanel pressed powder (about 3yrs:o) I dab on a bit once a day in the morning.
    Bourjois Pink lipgloss
    No17 blusher
    Clinique all over colour/bronzer (freebie)
    No 17 Eye Liner
    Collection 2000 Longer Lash (day)
    Ysl Falsh Lash Effect (Evening)
Clinique travel palette with eye shadow, blusher, lip glosses that never gets used and was bought in the airport when I was bored waiting for a flight a couple of years ago

    Fab thread!
I have so much makeup but I do share it with my sister who has never bought any makeup of her own ever and only uses whatever i buy.So far we have never had any sort fo minor or major infection.I keep half at my mums & the rest at my own house.I'm not a brand snob and will buy &try any type of cosmetics but I do like benefit, mac &dior makeup but now only treat myself to dior limited edition makeup on my birthday. My dior makeup is all kept on display on my dressing table.
If I find something I do like to buy extra backups because it is easy to build up a collection of unwanted or rarely used makeup but very hard to find a favourite brand once it's discontinued or out of stock.
My capsule collection contains 3 brushes-Blush, eye &lipliner by bodyshop, benefits pink to please a princess gold to get the guy pallette, Bourjois mascara,Body shop blusher,1 maxfactor colour adapt foundation and collection 2000 eyeliner.1 pack of preglued eyelashes, benefit highbeam,1 red, 1 nude revlon lipstick & body shop shimmercubes in a smokey pallete. If I had to throw away all my makeup and keep this collection this would be perfect for everyday, occasion and nights out.
Other makeup which is used often but not part of the capsule collection is kept in a beauty box/train case which is perfect to keep or take anywhere.
I used to keep/throw everything else in my chest of drawers but have bought clear boxes from wilko, muji &whsmith and these are fantastic to store lipstick, nailpolish, eyshadows and blushers in & then stack together.I keep tools such as brushes, nailitems & tweezers in pencil tidys.I tend to wipe over my items with a baby wipe to keep the packaging looking clean and to avoid spillages on othet items.I avoid buying palletes unless I am sure that I will use at least 75 per cent of the contents-if you only like 1 colour in a pallette try to buy it seperately.I have been strict with myself and do follow this routine now as in the past I used to have makeup clutter all over my room.Sorry for the long post & hope to see more from others!

Any thoughts on what would be a good make up capsule? I reckon:
2 x Mascara - for me anyway, in case I get a sensitive eye outbreak!
    2 x eyeliners, 1 dry and 1 liquid
    Bronzer x 1
    Blusher x 1
    Tinted moisturiser x 1
    Concealear x 1 highlighter combi?
Eyeshadow - maybe 1 pallette of good colours?
    xx

I'm gonna try and do this tonight, looks good to me, although I will add an eyebrow pencil, two lippies (one 'dramatic' and one 'nude') and one clear lipgloss.
Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!

Ok, you can shame me into this one! When I get home in the morning I will list my make up in all its' grim reality! I will also list the stuff I just gave to DD cause I had so much!
Just wondering how long you guys find an eyeshadow will last? I've got 3 that I'm using in rotation and I apply with a brush. Often 2 at a time. They don't look like they will ever run out and one of them was bought for my wedding (8 years ago). The other 2 are 5 years old. To be fair, I've not worn much make up in the last few years but I've had it on nearly everyday this year (Tuesday excepted lol!). I got a lovely set for Christmas from MiL but I don't want to use the shadow until I've got towards the end of these. My sister gave me one of the Elizabeth Arden gift sets and I don't know whether to sell it or keep it?
Maybe I should start trowelling it on like my DD and her friends do- they've nearly finished a few of the eyeshadows they were given! They do look like clowns though! (They're 7-8 BTW!)

Now make up is the ONE area where I am minimilist :D

    I have the following:

1 x pot of Lily Lolo concealer powder
1 x pot of Lily Lolo foundation
1 x pot of Lily Lolo shimmer finishing powder
1 x pot of Lily Lolo blusher
    3 x lipstcks
4 x eyeshadows but in reality only ever wear two
1 x Collection 2000 under eye illuminator thing
1 x Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara.

And apart from about 4 nail varnishes that's the main bulk of my make up. I used to have plenty more but realised I wasn't wearing half of it so threw it away.

Can I ask how long nail varnish will last? I found a bottle of Lancome very dark red polish bought when I went on a family skiing trip to Andorra in 1997 (:o) last night......it hasn't been used very much (I probably thought it was too expensive to use :p) ....... will it have survived?! It looks ok.....

Seriously though, as I don't keep my nail polish in the fridge how long will it last?
