Loopy_Girl wrote: »Nothing to stop the NRP, or anyone in fact, getting a better paid job is there? Lets be honest here, no point bleating about screwing over when the NRP has 4 nights to get more work and the PWC has 3 nights
Is it the PWC fault that they have more wages coming in? Is it the NRP fault that they have a lower paid job? who knows....
"Get a better paid job" and "Not the PWCs fault they earn more than the NRP". Two great lines.
One is not always an option for a lot of people, the other illustrates the inequity of CSA - if the NRP earns more, they have to pay more (and rightly so) but if the PWC earns more (and it could be a hell of a lot more) they do not have to assist in the provision for THEIR children when they are with the other parent.
And so, what if the PWC had £200 coming in as wages? The same as the NRP?
Answer:- They'd get a nice little top up from tax Credits to give them an extra £55 or so a week.
Leaving them £200 a week better off than the NRP for their 1 day extra care. And also due to the NRP having to pay the PWC some of their wages.
Additionally you might note that after essential living costs, the NRP ends up with less income than the rate for a single person on Income Support, despite having to support two children for 3 days a week. And the CSA rules actually create and exacerbate this situation.
If you don't see that as a problem in our society, then it says a lot about. you.0 -
I didn't say that I agreed with the rule and regulations that have been laid down by the CSA and the Government - you asked a question and I answered....apparantly that's what this forum is for.
Btw...I was struggling a while ago with money and after my outgoings didn't have that much left but do you know what I done? I got off my @rse and found a second job...I didn't sit and whine and woe is me - I done something about it so I don't see what the problem is with me saying to generate more income if PWC or NRP are struggling0 -

LG , I'm not sure who the reply is aimed at, whether you agree or disagree with the status quo, doesn't matter as we know you or I are unable to change that.
You are right about what the forum is for.
And I know not all PWCs are the same, I do know my daughter's mum 'plays' the system and it is a disgrace to the hard working folk like yourself and my parents and many many others.
Sometimes one has to be cruel to be kind, and if it means taking a resistive NRP through the courts and process for them to meet their financial responsibilities then so it be :A0 -

If the PWC "generates" more money, they keep it all. The PWC could have £1m plus a year coming in and would not have to pay a penny towards the cost of raising their children when they are with the NRP.
If the NRP "generates" more money they have to pay some of it to the PWC, even if that leaves them below the level for Income Support.
It's not about me, and why do you say it's "whining"? Do you say that to PWCs who want more money from the NRP?
It's a simple illustration of how the CSA system actually punishes the lowest paid and fails to help those NRPs who spend more time looking after their children.0 -

I agree with this - a second job that the NRP gets means more taxes and more CSA...
.. but the PWC - nothing is stopping them from getting more work.. no... but then that is completely irrelevant as the NRP has to pay no matter what.
The more money the PWC earns, the more the NRP moans and begrudges their payments
I am not bitter by the way - my husband is paying his CSA and bought shopping and things for the 3 days I was flat broke BUT .. there are many NRPs who are utter scum.:cool:0 -
I'm sorry but what is with all the digression in this post - DUTR is entitled to give an opinion just like everyone else, just because one doesn't like it doesn't give you the right to be, frankly, rude. Woody, again also has the right to express his views - he has helped me previously and I think this is just a case of some women thinking that any 'relationship' that involves the csa must instantly mean that the man was in the wrong - it simply isn't always the case!! I think some people need to be more open minded and actually return to the questions that were originally asked by the OP.0
