Avoid Alton Towers at all costs

You have to park up and then you take the mono rail to the entrance bit so you would no doubt be charged the parking as well on both days. You can look online and see if you can purchase something there perhaps. What I ment was can I drive into Alton Towers on the Monday just to buy tickets for Tuesday(not to visit the park). Or will I be charged for parking even though I am just purchasing tickets. (never been before so dont know the layout) Thanks0 -

I went on a Monday in autumn last year - used the Walkers half price vouchers. Checked the weather and it was supposed to be fine rain but by lunchtime was really hot.
Rode Oblivion 6 times, Air 3 times, and the majority of all the other rides at least twice!
TBH - a Saturday in June would be the worst time to go! Especially if the weather was forecast to be good! Kids will be finishing A Levels, GCSE's and uni's will also be finishing - then in July you have all the school trips.
I don't think £5 for parking is bad at all - espeically considering most councils charge more than this for a day's shopping in the city!
Shame I can't go this yearA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
The parking charge was introduced to pay toward a by-pass for the local village, however, the by-pass has been shelved, unlike the parking charge!0

I parked for free, i drove out of the entrance. Refused to pay the fee.0

If it was empty, it would be because the rides were rubbish!0

My children are still too small to go on a lot of the rides, but I do like that they continually invest in rides suitable for all ages. Talking of which, if you can go with a child, visit the Berry Burst, it's wasted on kids!
