I only paid the minimum last week of $510 as we wanted to build up our emergency fund a bit. Which means the new balance is 109 399.
We have had a crisis the last week with my Dad going into hospital with pneumonia...he has been in there a week today and today he has had a drain put in to get rid of the fluid build up around his lungs. He already had a litre of fluid taken out last Friday...and now they have to drain more...
My Dad refused medical help at first when I called the ambulance without his permission as I was very worried...but my Dad got my Mum to call them later that night but all is well now...Dad might be home on Saturday or early next week...The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 Challenge (MFiT-T2): #58 - Goal: Get to AU$50 000 by 12/12/12Current balance: $84 6932011 MF Wannabes: #102 - Goal: Overpay mortgage by AU$15 000Total paid for 2011: $2253.160 -

Hi canne,
Good morning in Australia. Looks like you could get down to the $105,000 you set as the start of your MFiT-T2 challenge. Well done.
Rate of 5.73%. Yeah, I recall reading this not long ago:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8339355.stm
Our UK base rate is just 0.5% currently, but I'm fixed at 4.79% until March 2011. Where UK rates will be after my fix ends - who knows
