It was good! My friend took me out for a chinese meal. My family got me an amazon kindle a few months ago as a combined Christmas and birthday present.

So all in all my birthday was a good one. My son wished me happy birthday on skype which was nice (my son is overseas).

    Cheers

I'm about to go to a store called Kmart which is a discount department store. I've got $60 worth of gift vouchers that I earned from clicking ads. I'm going to spend it all on toilet paper LOL. That's the only thing I can think of that we use all the time that will save money on our grocery bill...I like to use the money I earn to reduce our mortgage so that's the way I do it... $60 buys a LOT of toilet paper...we go through the checkout with the trolley piled high with it...the check out lady asked me last time if I'd like a bag as a joke LOL

    Hi Canne

Was just thinking of you for some reason as it seemed a while since we had heard from you and I couldn't believe it when I saw it was February when you last posted.

I hope all is well with you?

    Hi ATT,

All is well with me! I am still updating Cake's Mortgage Challenge (I'm #102) and Financial Bliss's 3 year Mortgage Challenge (I'm #58)

I've been active on an Aussie private facebook group and I stopped updating here on the diary. I am still subscribed to the thread which has made me aware you have posted here!

The mortgage balance is about to go under 70k this week! YAY! It will be about 69 900 this Thursday. I project we will be paid off by the end of 2014... We have refinanced to a home loan with the same lender in July. We no longer pay the $8 a month fee, there is free redraw ($50 fee before) and no fees whatsoever at all, it was a free switchover as well, so a no brainer really...lower interest rate as well by 0.21%

So we are still plodding along...

    Cheers

Hi Canne, great to hear from you! Well done on being just about to go through the 70 barrier :jSounds like you also did a great thing doing your mortgage switch too!

I usually to the annual cake challenge too but this year I decided I was just creating extra work as I was also doing FB's MFiT T2 challenge. I sometimes don't get to see all the posts on there so must have missed your updates :o but it's great to hear about your progress, less of the 'plodding', you are doing great!

Hi all remember me! Our mortgage is now 57300. I have just signed up to the new 3 year challenge and i hope to pay it off in that time.

We will have paid off our solar panels in a couple of months which will be good. Though i am hankering after a smartphone which i am saving up for...

Anyway i thought i would update you on how we are going...

    Cheers
