O2: How much different between standard and premium/ what is LLU?

I recently got a BT line & o2 broadband and it seemed the best choice for me.
You may still be able to get a free connection to BT by saying you want this deal to them, which ties you to an 18month contract with some minimum call requirements.
You can then get o2 broadband, you can get good cash back through some sites and 4months free through other sites.
o2 broadband will certainly be better than Sky, but it depends on how much of a techie you are in weather you'll notice! Just depends on if you were getting sky anyway, so if you were you might get a good deal that way.
I just checked it and find out that I still need BT landline if I go for SKY. So I really need BT line if I want broadband internet from whatever providerWhy there is no cable service in a really centre of the city?!?!?
Now BT line+O2 Broadband is the best for me (cheapest too).
*To camers*
"You may still be able to get a free connection to BT..."
What do you mean by free connection? You mean the free "set up" charge (in stead of paying £25)? but I still need to pay the line rental which is £11.25....am I right?
Sorry guys.. I might sound stupid but I never have BT line before so I do not know how it works.
Also another question, you said
"o2 broadband, you can get good cash back through some sites and 4months free through other sites"
I know I can get £50 cashback from quidco
you said....AND?? 4 months free through other sites?...
you mean I will get "both" or......"cashback or 4 motnhs free"
If I can get both...how to get 4 months free?
Thank you so much for everyone's reply.0 -

Sorry, but in your first post you say that you are leaving Virgin Media because the price will go up at the end of your 12 months. Then you say there is no cable service at your address. Virgin Media is a cable service, so how do you get your broadband at the moment?
Are you perhaps on Virgin National, which is a BT line service?
If you want broadband via a landline, rather than mobile broadband, you need either a cable service from VM, or a BT landline on which you will have to pay line rental and take a call package. There's no other option. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
You have no chance of getting ANY broadband without the BT line!
Not true. You can now get 'mobile' broadband which is provided by many of the mobile operators now - they provide you with a USB dongle/datacard which gives you broadband access. I have no experience of these so can't vouch for reliability or speed performance, but it's important that the OP is aware that you CAN get broadband without having a land line.
OP, you'll have to assess whether your usage requirements would make this a cost effective option for you, as normally these are used for access whilst 'on the move' as opposed to a permanent home solution:

Sorry I did not mention earlier that I am moving to new house. If I continue with Virgin, the price will go up to normal price (At the very beginning I did not know that there is no cable service at my new house).0 -
So you have to get a landline first and then you can get broadband on that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

OK, Great. I am now applying for BT line and will get O2 Broadband afterward.
You know if I can get any discount on BT line?
For O2 Broadband I only know that I can get cashback+dongle from Quidco. Not sure if I can get more offer (as a guy above said I can get 4 months free as well)0 -
You get a fiver discount on O2 if you register an O2 mobile with it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Yes I got o2 mobile.
So I will pay
1 BT line rental £11.25 per month
2 o2 broadband £7.34 per month
Total £18.59 a month
+£50 cash back from quidco
+Dongle
That's the best deal really I think. It's about £15 a month for home phone+broadband...Great!0 -
Remember with BT this includes free weekend calls, or free weekend and evening calls if you take a 12m contract.
But you've got the cost of the line install on top of that (normally £122).No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi, Macman
I just checked and see that I "might" have to pay for £122.50 for connection line.
What if there is BT phone socket in my new house, does this mean I do not need to pay for installation charge?0
