You seem to be making some very sweeping generalisations based on brief visits to small parts of a few towns and a similarly sweeping generalisation about the whole of England. Have you visited St. Andrews, Anstruther, Elie, Crail, Falkland, Culross or Ceres? If you came to Fife expecting city amenities then that's your fault, not Fife's. It's a primarily rural county. I've lived in various parts of England, some of which (Staffordshire in particular) seemed very old fashioned and backwards. However I've also stayed in some lovely parts of England so I wouldn't want to generalise based on visiting only a few places (particularly if I was visiting bus station to bus station which is never the best way to get to know an area).
Fife wasn't for you, fair enough. If you'd said that rather than slagged the place off based on your limited experience, it would have reflected better on you in my opinion. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Deal with what i said , again i make no bones about Fife , its backwards along with everything else in the county if you cant see that then hey not my problem. My opinion is my opinion ...take it or leave it ........0 -
Fifer wrote:You base that decision on one visit to a small part of a town? I've been to much worse places in Yorkshire and Lancashire. To each his own.
Er where ??????????? I cannot accept there is a worse town than Kircrappy (and also Glendross in which i think you imply ) Lancs/Yorks ? This town hasnt seen any investment at all id reckon since the linolium trade fell , if so i want to see it ? All thats happening is that more and more higher priced houses are springing up on the top of town / the Kinghorn road area , places where the normal folk cannot possibly afford , again a case of the council ignoring the little folk and going for the brass . Kirkcaldy is dead on its feet , face facts take a look around and if you really think Fife council is really going to regenerate the town , there is more chance of snow going up !0 -
Anyhow i will now close on this subject , im offering the original poster an honest opinion on what i personally think of Fife , god help her if she ever moves to this dross hole ........0

I don't want to have to close this thread as the OP is asking about Fife, the whole of beautiful Fife I assume and has a lot of good replies, but I will close the thread if it continues in this vein. I have removed a few posts.
Thank you.0 -
