No longer a concrete jungle ??????????? have you drove in or taken a bus in to Glenrothes from Kircrappy recently ?????? thats all that it is , houses like boxes surrounded by about 147 roundabouts ! Take off those rose tinted glasses !

I disagree. I live in Pitcairn on the North side of Glenrothes, although originally from the North East of Scotland, and it is so beautiful here and green. I can see Falkland Hill from my bedroom window and the lovely Coul Den. Two minutes from my house and I am out in the country, plenty of good dog walks and cycle tracks. As far as the roundabouts go, I think they are great. When I first moved here it made driving so easy and I never got lost.

    Hi
I didnt actually come up here to get away from it all ... my children live in Inverness and we chose to come to Kirkcaldy ( we didnt do my homework which is very unusual of us ) to settle without checking out what the town held for us employment wise .
Again i pull no punches re the county , i cannot understand how people who are from here fail to see that Fife needs major investment on all sides ?

Have to say though, Lancashire Lad, having lived in Inverness myself, I don't know how you could have left unless like us it was a work move. Inverness is a wonderful place to live.

Come on now, be fair. Fife is a lovely place with its beaches and golf courses. You are not far from Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow which is great for airports, universities, etc. I didn't think I would settle here as I loved living up North near family, etc but I do see the positive points too.

Maybe you should consider a move to Inverness then. It really is a lovely place to live. I have to agree with you regarding Kirkcaldy as it is not my favourite place either. If I want to go shopping, I go up to Dundee (only for the shops mind, I wouldn't want to live there either) or Perth (now I could live there, it is lovely).

It is not in the middle of nowhere and it has loads of facilities and it gets less snow than Glenrothes, I can tell you!

Im being fair i do not deny that it has nice scenery , i especially like Burntisland where the lovely beach is BUT the rest of it is DROSS , the facilities are very poor , take a look at Kirkcaldy where i live , we have just had the links fair which finished last night , far play to the council its a yearly event .....then what NOTHING Kirkcaldy is dead for the rest of the year , a grey town with grey people walking round it , the brain deads turn up at night reving up n down the esplandade bored outta there brains , we have no cinema in the town NOTHING ..id sooner live on Mars ! You might think im being harse but i see what i see NO INVESTMENT WHAT SO EVER ......

You do have a point. It is a bit off that they closed both the cinemas in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes and now the nearest one is in Dunfermline. Also, the fact that the council are considering closing the Fife Institute but I still live in hope that we will get a state of the art leisure centre. I do still think it is nice being close to all the main cities but not actually living in them and think perhaps Kirkcaldy wasn't the best choice for you but there are lovely places to live in Fife.
