Recorded delivery provides no more compensation than first or second class mail and only covers items of value up to 30 pounds, but excludes "valuable mail".
Royal Mail only pay compensation for "valuable mail" (which includes cashback claim vouchers) if it has been sent Special Delivery.

yes royal mail has been very poor in these situations. recorded delivery on covers for the value of the item in the post (ie the bit of paper in there). if you want to be covered by them then use special delivery with the extra cover for consequential loss.
and the best thing to do in these situations is to actually ring e2save and find out what they say. they should let you email or fax in a copy going by the experiences that others have reported (you have to be quick and make sure it is within the time period of the cashback claim though).0
