What did they say with three phone calls?
1st call was to say that they were interested in my comment and could they pass my details onto the business unit

2nd call was 10 mins later from the business unit asking some further questions

3rd call was from the website team to clarify what the business unit had passed onto them and to confirm what they were going to say etc.

Tried cashpoint at lunch and thought it was a cashpoint error. After work I tried Barclays cashpoint which wasn't working and then lloyds where another barclays customer couldn't get cash, so I figured it was a barclays thing, but had no access to net to get any news on it. So I call up telebanking and got put through to indian call centre, woman tells me my card is fine and to go to another cashpoint and try some more of them. This was at 5:05pm (just 5 mins before they resolved the problem I later found out). She insisted my card was fine, told me debit card services were out of action until 5:30pm but failed to tell me the WHOLE barclays network was down, hence my card wouldn't work :mad::mad:
Anyway, just called complaints line (0800 number) and nice UK call centre woman said she would refund me £10 for cost of call on mobile wasted arguing with indian call centre woman.
Picardygirl-you should call them and explain your situation.

I've called them - nothing they can do til the letter gets generated! Or gave me the option of going through to complaints, i tried, held on for a good while, but gave up, lines i'm sure are busy tonight!

So will have to wait for the letter and phone them back then, i've transferred the money to put the account back in the black, but because it was done after 6.30pm its gone in as as tomorrow's date.

Never got that when the BBC use my comments in their football pages! I think they just take them from Have your Say!

I got through near enough instantly when I called the 0800 number found on their contacts page. I think its directly to the complaints dept in the UK which means they have the power to adjust things/pay compo into your account.

well i rang the 0800 number this morning, got through in seconds, to a very helpful lady, explained exactly what happened yesterday, she put me on hold and said as of last night close of balance my account was still well within its overdraft and didnt go anywhere near the reserve, so no charge has or will be generated.

So dont know what happened because on line last night the balance was into my reserve yet their system is saying it wasnt. Not complaining!

That'll teach me to overspend in the shop and rely on coming home and transferring the money!

The lady did say, anyone that would be liable for charges yesterday will be "let off" as such.

    Hi all

I realised I wouldnt have enough funds in current account yesterday to cover some DDs so I transferred some money online from another Barclays account. When I looked this morning the transfer was showing after the DDs had gone through, and one of them has bounced.

The DDs werent there when I did the transfer and this has never happened before. Do you think this is something to do with their system problems? Will I get away without paying charges?
  • Cleared funds have to be in the account by 1:30am for a direct debit or standing order to go through that day. This is when the decision to pay/not pay is made. What time did you do the transfer?
