Am I missing something? What's the scam? Did they send you a dodgy paypal link?

Clearly, I do NOT think that they are genuine, I just wondered what you think they're up to? For you to post out without funds??
    I love surprises!

What they have done is mistake that the VCR is a Video Camera in the first instance. Surely even Lagos has a surplus of old VCRs lying around?

After that, they will offer any amount at all in order to get the goods shipped. They will send a fake email from Paypal and probably one from ebay claiming that the seller must send the goods immediately and (ebay/papal) have confirmed the funds and will release them on receipt of a tracking number. Depending on other factors they might try and involve another fake escrow service or other fake emails.

Some people fall for this at one stage or another and send the goods. The "guyman" or "lad" laughs at the stupidity of "mugus", is toasted as a hero of his community and enjoys his stolen goods.

Lol, this is hilarious. I really hope they reply to that last one.
Why not throw in the vegetable tumble drier? ^_^
  • The latest reply has confused me somewhat. I think they might be trying to figure out how to answer the rest of the questions, but I'll mail them again to point out the highlights. I'm disappointed they didn't go for the Jolly Roger card, as I'm sure there'd have been mileage in it :rotfl:

  • Here's my response - hopefully it will get a more interesting reply than the last one.
I feel they may have cottoned on.... but fingers crossed......

    Hi Wendy,
I have prepared your dog card and the goods are ready to ship to you.
I need answers to the other questions in my last email though, otherwise I can't ship to you.
    1. Do you want the additional item previously mentioned, bringing the total to £12350 (not including feed or bedding).
    2. Will someone be available to help the courrier deliver the items into the house? If not, they will deliver to the kerb (at this point, you take responsibility for the items and must check for damage).
    3. Please let me know which shipping method you require from the following options:
    a) Standard
    b) Standard express
    c) Express express
    d) Next day
    e) Next day before tea time
    f) Premium delivery (includes nude delivery driver (male/female) at extra cost)
    4. Please provide your delivery address, so I know where to send the goods to.
Once I have this information, I will send you an invoice to your stated email address
Once I have received confirmation from Paypal that I have the funds, I will ship the item to you.
I hope this is acceptable and I wait to hear from you.
    Please get in touch soon.
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

This thread is awsome haha. I recently tired to sell a DVD Video Camera and I was playing this Nigerian on for ages and ages, in the end i just told him to do 1 and stop wasting my time. I hate these scams.
