Hi all,
I'm not sure if it's ok to put this up here, but I'd like to share with you an email conversation I'm having with someone who allegedly started out wanting to buy a video recorder I'd listed on Gum Tree..
The emails are in chronological order. I'm still talking to them today and would like any suggestions on what to say next...

It's ok, the price is £5450, not £5510 - I never over charge.
If you're interested, I could add in the second item I have advertised, but that would bring the total to £9650. Let me know if you're interested.

When I received this one, I was surprised, to say the least.
I advertised a video recorder for twenty quid and now they want to give me nearly ten grand! And they want a cat gift card as well!
I’m still thinking up what to send back to them.
I think I’ve run out of cat gift cards…

Tell them you have run out of cat gift cards, but luckily you ran over the neighbours cat while parking your car, could you use this instead. Tell them it's white, so the writing will show up clearly. If necessary, tell them you have a niece/nephew/cousin who will embalm it so it doesn't smell too bad when it gets there.

Sorry, had a few of these and had some quite surreal conversations with scammers. My problem is that I get bored, then tell them to eff off and die - or (unrepeatable) words to that effect

Thanks for your agreement to the total cost of £9650.
If you so wish, I have one further item available which would raise the cost to £12,350, but this does not include feed and bedding charges, which we could discuss further if you choose to go ahead.
The items are quite bulky, so you would have to make sure that someone was available to help the delivery driver carry them into your house.
Unfortunately, due to your delay in replying, I'm afraid I've run out of the cat gift cards
and they've been replaced by our new Jolly roger card. Or you could still choose from dog, little boy, little girl or christmas tree cards. Let me know which you'd prefer.
Once I have your delivery address I will send you the invoice.
I understand you would like to pay through paypal, which is acceptable to me.
Please forward payment on receipt of the invoice and I will despatch the goods to you immediately.
