Good morning all
It's lovely here so far I just hope that it carries on. We were lucky yesterday as it only rained for about an hour even though parts of our region flooded & had terrible thunder storms.
My plans for today are- Flylady list
- Sew some more lettuce seeds
- Sort out the drawers in the childrens rooms & see what can go or stay
- Walk the dog before it gets too hot for him
I can't believe how quickly it's all gone.
Dinner this evening is omlette, new potatoes & salad so nice & easy.
(((((hugs))))) where needed and I hope that everyone has a good day.
Edited to add: Elona The recipe for marshmallow crispie bars is here. I double or triple the recipe usually as they don't last long other wiseI also use pink/white marshmallows but not the ones with blue or green in as the mixture goes a strange colour :rotfl:

Morning all,
Sat here on the patio at DB2 & SiL's home in Spain. I have done some gardening for them and swept 4 of their patios. Bit like flogging a dead horse as the wind has got up, it's cooler today but still hot. Last night it was 34c in the house at 11pm. and all doors and windows were open.
DB2 has lost quite a bit of weight and looks a bit gaunt, he has to go for more tests next Monday. So fingers crossed.
I brought more Stardrops over and have used some to S&S the floors. Off out shopping soon.
I am so behind on here and don't know what's been happening to you all so I'll send a batch of hugs and congrats so you can pick out what's needed.
BITSY, Had I been at home I would have invited you in for a cuppa in sunny Glasto. Hope you enjoy your hols.
PENPIN, I'm with you on that one, Sisters can be a pain in the derier I know mine is. Take care.0 -
Morning all.
Sunnyday, how on earth do you manage to do ironing at that time of the morning? I struggle to get out of bed at 7am, and struggle to get my ironing done full stop (its done whenever the kids run out of school uniform, and even then I really have to force myself to do it!).
Not a good day yesterday, as my elderly foster cat had a fit. Was really distressing to watch. Took her to the vet afterwards, and they say its possible she has a brain tumour, as fitting is one of the first signs apparently. She seems fine now, so will just have to keep an eye on her. If she has lots of fits then it may be kindest to put her to sleep. Fingers crossed it was a one off, she really is a lovely old girl.
This evening I am taxi driver for my kids as usual. They have cricket club straight after school, then DD has 1.5 hours of swimming training, then it is straight onto scouts, where she is doing rafting tonight, so its at the local reservoir. Her tea will be a very un-OS Cornish Pasty eaten in the car between swimming and rafting I think!
DS had his scouts last night, they did backwards cooking, although why it was called that I don't know, as from what he described it just seemed to be a BBQ! Next week he is doing Pitch and Putt, and DD is rafting again. Monday and Tuesday nights are a nightmare!
Have some very tired looking bananas in the fruit bowl, so plan to make a banana cake, plus a weetabix cake as that is DD favourite.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -

From my guiding days - I think it's a corruption of backwoods cooking - so just outdoors on a BBQ or over an open fire.
*shudders to remember the results of cooking of pizza over an open fire and how to cook eggs in orange skins*Kids loved it though, and are remarkabley inventive when it comes to cooking stuff in tuna tins or on sticks.
I admit to having an emergency chocolate stash in the car. I'm not exactly Ray Mears when it comes to outside foodI could boil water in a paper bag over an open fire if I wanted to.... honest
Sorry about your kitty
edited to say: ah... here we goI remember using this to work out what to do

congratulations and good luck to children re their exams
hugs a waves to all
i have dusted and been for milk,
tea tonight will be pizza not HM oh will have to do it as I'm having a procedure on my back this afternoon0 -
Morning-nice here, done some more bedding. We had thunder and lightning, and the garden was very well watered yesterday, but no floods and it saves my water meter so thats ok.
Lunch will be left over chicken and salad, and tonight we'll have hm turkey goujons with salad.I've not been out into the back garden to check on any damage yet from the storm but yesterday it was all flourishing. The house is pretty tidy, did the hoovering upstairs when it chucked it down yest and I had to come in,all washing from holiday is done (and most of the ironing)The recycling bins have just been emptied so I can fill my garden bin up again, which should get rid of the last of the hawthorn prunings  *Note to self-must wear gloves this time-ouch.
Have looked at our hol pictures on pc,quite pleased with them.We got a new camera the day before we went so the manual was my holiday reading.Fortunately it had a simple mode,so thats what we used mainly.Couldnt print any out as the ink was running out-why does it do that whenever I want to print.
Diva- yes that part of France is gorgeous-first time we'd been so far South.
I had a look on a property web site when we got back. That was the dream really-whenever we sell the house we'd get something a lot smaller and get something to do up over there. The trouble is the pound/euro making it so dear at the mo- oh and the house not selling,so still dreaming:rotfl:
Well better get on,hugs to anyone who needs one,and good luck to JackieO and Pen Pin tomorrow.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Penny Pincher ((hugs)) I couldn't read & run. I don't have a sister but if I were you I'd feel very much the same. It's about the children and their needs should be put first. I agree that your sister has the weekends when she can have boyfriends over & until she's sure of the relationship they shouldn't be introduced to the children. My best friend had been going out with her boyfriend for almost a year before she involved her son and it's worked out well.
I would stay out of it and if your Mum does ask you anything I'd answer truthfully - it's an unfair postiton for you to have been put in. If you feel like it then talk to your sister though, you are not the one making her feel cheap. I hope that you can sort it out it's too much for you to have to deal with on top of all your treatments as well :kisses3:0 -
Morning all,
Really nice day so far, 2 lots of washing to do and get on line.
DD asked me to light Hopi candles in her ears this morning....she has a lot of ear and sinus trouble and has only finished an antibiotic so decided to try these....sure I saw someone here mention one some time ago(?). She is still resting after second ear so don't know what miracle to expect!
Need eggs, milk and maybe something for dinner, most of what I have in freezer seems to be pork, which DD is not keen on, so will see what's on offer when I go to shop....only have €10 to spend in all so it will have to be a good offer!
Just been out watering some containers, they are really feeling thirsty, some things have even died off, so must be careful that nothing happens to the veggies.
Dishwasher to be emptied now before I can go to shop!
