Booked an appointment online (via a cash back site like a good MSEer) only to be called four days later and told that there wasn't any engineers in the WHOLE of Cumbria to do a service!!!! The lass was very apologetic and suggested hanging on for a few weeks as npower may employ some more engineers
. Oh well, off to BG!
Same for Gloucestershire. You 'book' an appointment on their online diary (or so you think) and then they phone to say there's no-one available that day - despite their online diary being empty for that entire week.
A few emails/phone messages later they admit there are no dates available until at least 10th September and that even they cannot see the diary beyond that (and the reduced rate expires at end Sept). When I suggest this means the contract is effectively off they say no (!). When I ask how are they going to fulfill it if they can't find an appointment they don't have an answer.
So, a good way of pulling us in - cashback offer too - but they don't seem to be able to do the work, so it's also a good way to make them seem inefficient and totally useless. (BTW cashback is only paid for completed visits, so that's a waste of time too)0 -

Don't understand this as I made the original post and live in Gloucester. In fact, the guy who services the boilers lives in Cirencester. I did make the appointment for about the last day of the offer and they rang back and said I couldn't make an online booking more than a month ahead and to wait until a month beforehand! Did so and then had not trouble."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0
