It's not misleading (they're pretty cheap) but I love Bargain Booze: Making Life Richer, For The Pourer.
Also, McDonalds a few years back rebranded chicken nuggets - "now 100% chicken" - !!!!!! was it before??(apparently this ad ran in the States as "100% white meat")
So I'm assuming if you buy chicken nuggets from McDonalds that, unlike most other chicken nuggets, they don't come in breadcrumbs or batter? Last time I checked, neither of those were made from chicken!:rolleyes:OS weight loss challenge: 4.5/6 lbs0 -
My favourite is a local window blinds company, across the side of his work van in huge writing is
"THE BLIND MAN"
If he is blind what is he doing driving? And should he really be advertising it?
I'm sure your local blind man will be pleased to know he's not the only one of his type - we have a "blind man" around here, or so his van declares, who also happens to make and fit blinds. problem being, while we all titter at the van every time he's see out & about, he genuinely doesn't get the joke! People have been trying to explain to him the problem with his advertising for years!:rolleyes:OS weight loss challenge: 4.5/6 lbs0 -

Reminds me of one of the jokes at the end of an episode of The Vicar of Dibley , Dawn French is in the bath and there is a knock at the door and he says he is the blind man, so she decides its ok to let him in then but he walks in carrying a blind and says ' nice pair of T*ts !WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?

so in other words, it doesnt have to be served on a plate? it can be eaten off the floor? or out of the tin?
Hah I was thinking of this yesterday, bought some chocolate mousse cups, on the side was a picture of some mousse on a spoon, and it said Serving Suggestion! So if I had people coming round for a dinner party I could serve it to them on one spoon? Do they legally need to put this on to stop people thinking you get the spoon/plate/other food on the picture?D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

Tesco "Soup In A Mug" is quite misleading. It comes in a packet, not a mug.
I got bored and wrote a letter to Tescos:
"Dear Sirs,
Recently, I purchased a box of your “Soup in a Mug” product. I was very disappointed to find that upon opening the box, there were sachets of soup powder, rather than the SOUP in a MUG promised.
If I am correct, soup is a liquid item. The product inside was a solid powder. Furthermore, no mug was included – even though the box pictures a mug!
I feel that your packaging is very unfair, as both the wording and pictures promise a mug, and no mug is supplied.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards"
and got a reply:Thank you for contacting us. I was sorry to learn that you feel that the packaging for our Tesco Soup in a Mug was misleading and I apologise for the disappointment caused.
We do try to make sure that the illustration and the wording on the product are a true reflection of the contents. We would never knowingly cheat or mislead our customers and take great care to ensure that our packaging accurately shows the product that is inside.
The relevant department dealing with such matters has been notified and I can assure you that this will be taken on board at the next review meeting. I cannot guarantee that action will be taken, however your views and comments are invaluable to us.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Yours sincerely
For and on behalf of Tesco Stores Ltd
