Yes; "Everything must go!" Well, duh. Hmmmm, or what?0
-
In TK Maxx shop window:
“Always up to 60% less”
Or, to rephrase:
"Guaranteed - never more than 60% off"

Loved the line in the DFS advert: "Everything in the sale is reduced!"
There's obviously some other sort of sale that I haven't heard about:rotfl:0 -
It's not misleading (they're pretty cheap) but I love Bargain Booze: Making Life Richer, For The Pourer.
Also, McDonalds a few years back rebranded chicken nuggets - "now 100% chicken" - !!!!!! was it before??(apparently this ad ran in the States as "100% white meat")

Or for stock taking, re-branding, or similar ... and when they are subsequently closed for about half a day...Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.
Illegitimi Non Carborundum!!!:cool:0 -
I recently almost bought some socks in TK Maxx that were marked RRP xxxx, Our Price yyyy, but there was a manufacturers tab on the label stating the price as yyyy. So the "RRP" was made up to satisfy the up to 60% off monicker.
Since then, I've not really bought so much there.0 -

"Safeway, everything you want from a store and a little bit more"
Erm, if its EVERYTHING I want from a store, then what is the little bit more? Something undesirable?
From what i remember of Safeway the little bit more was stupid stickers stuck on packs of bread rolls saying 'Split and fill' before seeing those invaluable stickers i had gone through life spreading butter and putting the 'filling' on top of the rolls :rolleyes:WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -
One that annoys me is our local car tyre and exhaust company that brags: "We guarantee the lowest prices in the area!" and the "You will not find these prices elsewhere - guaranteed!"
Then underneath it states that the "area" classes as a rather precise 2.75 mile radius, a distance that takes them to within sneezing distance of the only other tyre and exhaust supplier in town!
Very clever! :cool:0 -
My favourite is a local window blinds company, across the side of his work van in huge writing is
"THE BLIND MAN"
If he is blind what is he doing driving? And should he really be advertising it?0 -
boyfriend buys cans of dubious foreign tinned spaghetti with a picture of it on a plate and the words
serving suggestion
so in other words, it doesnt have to be served on a plate? it can be eaten off the floor? or out of the tin?0
