This is why this board is gonna get killed off - we can't have a conversation about something as anodyne as possible future interest movements without it turning into a fight.
It's a bit sad really.0 -

Which fight was that Gen ?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
The one I've just read for the last 4 pages on sockpuppets and someone else giving those on benefits a good verbal 'kicking' and bumming about the size of his.. tax bill ??!!.
Am relatively new here and was looking forward to reading a good debate on interest rates etc... I don't even know who most of the people on this thread are, or who they are referring too..
Was pretty dire reading save for a few posts. There are loads more that read these threads than old 'regulars' who have 'history' to bicker over.
< engages lurk mode >It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Why did you thank mewbie when he called him @sshole then
I thought he was talking to you. oops"I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -

I totally agree, and have said as much in other threads. The clique here is so far up it's own behind, it's ridiculous. I wish that I'd just lurked instead of contributing because if you show an interest you're immediately set upon.
No wonder Martin has lost patience, this board sucks."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
With respect bendix, you say you have lived in subsidised housing, received benefits through your fathers unemployment and received a state education until you were at least 21 and I guess you received a maintenance grant as well. Yet through your posts I sense utter disregard for those unfortunate to not possess your presumable abilities and unwillingness to pay for those less fortunate (although you now appear to deny this).
I assume you are a legal bod (after applying some intellectual curiosity) your pm to LIR is a bit of a clue. Apologies if any assumptions I have made are incorrect.
BTW commiserations over your dad.
Steve, there are two main economic phases in a person's life. Your childhood and adolescence when, unfortunately, you can't really impact your economic environment, and your maturity - when you can.
I apologise for bendix's childhood when he accepted (tacitly) state help.
It won't happen again.
Now, I'm prepared to let you have the last word. I know it's important to you. After that, let's take it private, ok?0
