That's all very well if you don't mind dodgy callers to your house. It only takes one bad experience to close down any enthusiasm for freecycle. No thanks, not worth it.
Wasteful or not, it's the bin now for any low value item.
You can recycle ink cartridges at various different places now. Don't forget charity shops too.

Seems the best option, though I am not sure exactly how the old folk who man the ones around here will market cartridges for outmoded printers in a local high street.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. The kicker for me was a couple of weeks ago I listed a game for 1.50 that had a few watchers but didn't sell (with 1.55 recorded p&p on top),
Why send a 1.50 game recorded? just send it second class with proof of posting. if it does missing you can claim what you need to refund off RM. That would keep your costs down0 -
Damn ebay. I hate them doing this. I'm just so glad the game I listed was before they introduced free P&P.
If I do list in the free P&P section I make sure I specify it's 2nd Class post and I always offer 1st class standard or recorded for an additional cost. The only DVDs I'll ever list are box sets that will sell well.
ebay will kill themselves if they force people to put free P&P on their items. Maybe not in the next few years, but eventually they will.0 -
            SO:
Item costs £2.68 to post. I add this to my 99p start price. Item sells at starting price, which is now £3.67 (unlikely, as that's too high a start price for the item I'm selling and everyone KNOWS that). Ebay charge me FVF of 10%, = 36p. this comes from my 99p, as my postage hasn't suddenly got cheaper. I'm down to 63p. Buyer pays £3.67 via Paypal. They charge me 35p (guess-timate). I'm now down to 28p. And I haven't charged for packaging or getting to the PO.
Why would I bother? Ebay have screwed it up.No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!
Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target

            Hi
I know i sound really thick but trying to get my head round all these blinkin changes.
Can someone please clarify that if i list say a dress or top i don't have to offer free P&P (at the mo anyway!)
TIA0 -
At the moment clothes aren't included so you don't have to offer free p&p. Think happy & you'll be happy

I have noticed a lot of the categories with 'free' postage are favourites of the Chinese & Hong Kong sellers. They used to inflate the postage and sell lots of items for 1p. This must have caused endless disputes as 90% of it is fake/dud/cr*p. Perhaps this will level the playing field for UK sellers.0

Enforced free postage - it's bad, bad, bad...
Bad for me, because now I can't compete against anyone on postage price (my postage prices for the videogames I sold were generally cheaper than my competitors).
Bad for buyers, because now there's no way to offer combined postage costs - you can't offer reduced postage for multiple items if postage is "free" anyway.
Bad for all sellers because auctioned items will have to start at "postage cost" rather than at 99p if they want to ensure not being out of pocket - and because an old Nintendo game that used to look attractive to buyers at £2-£3 starts looking kind of expensive at £5.
Yeah, congrats eBay - one more step along the road away from being a first class auction site, and towards being a second-class Amazon ...For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -

Give Ebay time and they'll get around to enforcing "FREE" P &P here too.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0
