Mega problem with 3 mobile phone can anyone please help

Bit long sorry!
Cancelled a phone contract with 3. Still delivered handset. Phoned them, they sent a jiffy bag to send it back. Returned it. Received bill and welcome to 3 letter. Phoned they said don't worry passed in post. All cancelled nothing to pay.

Destroyed all paperwork. Have since received letter saying they can't close account didn't receive handset. Phoned them they said they need consignment number. tell them haven't got it. Conversation goes round in circles. (Indian call centre)

Have since received two bills and have been passed to debt collectors. they say i have to pay. 3 still keep asking for consignment number when i phone and said to phone royal mail.

I phone royal mail. Lovely helpful lady. Says they are making it up about consignment number fill in form p58. It will acknowledge phone is lost and give you something to quote to them.

Need address phone was sent to for form. It is 3 Global Services but I have no address. just phoned customer services again. Will not give me address, say they will send me a jiffy bag to return phone. I bash my head against the wall and say i have sent it where should it have gone? They say you will need to get it back from royal mail. I say give me the address, they say no.

What the hell do i do now???

Please someone tell me how to sort this. I will be so grateful. How do i find the address and how do i get anywhere. I have phoned and e-mailed and got nowhere!

I also cancelled my contract with 3 recently, and surprise, surprise they said they hadnt received my handset either and I would be billed £258 for phone. Bloomin cheek! Fortunately I still had my post office receipt but they are still 'investigating'. If it helps, the destination postcode was PA4 9RF on my jiffybag/ receipt.
Just googled '3' and that postcode and have found the address;
Total Repair Solutions (that was name on my receipt)
32 Fountain Drive
Inchinnan Business Park
Inchinnan, Renfrew, Renfrewshire. PA4 9RF

I have been told to phone back tomorrow and ask for the handset exchange department but I expect when i try they will say it doesn't exist.

If I don't get any joy I will use the post code you have provided.

Have you got anywhere with having the post office receipt or are they still hounding you? I'm a bit worried they have passed me to a debt agency.

Is this a money making scam three do on a regular basis maybe?

Welcome to 3......I know someone who paid 18 months for a returned handset/contract.

You could always turn the tables and tell them you sent them the post office receipt, and it must be lost in the post like the phone! (tut@ me)
Sorry to be flippant, I know how worrying it is. Do the post office keep any receipts themselves they could check?

Well phoned back and asked for hanset exchange department, after first denying it's existence they then said they couldn't put me through.

Been given a different number by someone on another messageboard which i have just called.


After much arguing and being put on hold they did eventually give me an address. They said at first that there wasn't one. Muppets!

No wonder it is lost if they don't get sent anywhere.

Very abusive wanting to know what form I was filling in for post office etc and went back down the consignment number route again.

I said ok, stop, send me another jiffy bag. He blustered a bit and said why. I said because then I can just copy the address.

He then very reluctantly gave me an address. It is actually not that far away, I am tepted to go and look myself.

Anyway I have filled in form for post office and it will get sent tonight. I am also e-mailing trading standards.

Just dreading having to go through it all again when i get reply from post office.


I was also advised to ask for a disclaimer form which I did. They said I could download it from the website but I can’t find one on there? Any ideas?

Also, does anyone know what happens when the debt collectors are after you. Are my kneecaps safe?

Did you send it back by recorded delivery? If so, did you not check online a few days later to see if it had been received?
Unfortunately without a proof of posting or a tracking no. you're not going to get any compensation out of RM, because you have no proof it was ever posted.

I don't want compensation from Royal mail and am not trying to get any.

My issue is after I had sent the phone back to 3 they sent me the first bill. I phoned them and they said my account was cancelled and they had received the handset.

I then shredded everything.

A couple of weeks later I got a letter saying they couldn't close the account because they haven't received the handset. They deny saying that they had received it.

Right, that is clear now. Without a contact name it might be difficult, but could you ask them to review the tapes of the conversation you had when they confirmed receipt? If you know the date, that might help.
