Hedger, based on the subjective information you have given points to the fact that they want your wife out.
If she was good at her job and on the lowest pay then I don't see why they want rid off her.0 -
With the greatest respect, hedger, this reponse seems to typify your attitude that everything is about you.
If you look carefully, you'll see the response was to me, not you.
But it seems you - and your wife - like to think that the whole world revolves around you, your rights, your sense of injustice and outrage. But, you see, it doesnt. I know that's hard for you to accept.
I'd even venture to suggest that it is precisely this attitude which might explain why you're about to become a one-income household, but that wouldnt be polite, would it?
bendix you know nothing about me or my wife as a person so button it.
I could say the exact same about you but I wont. like I told you before, i couldnt care less what you think as I know the truth about this case. I jumped at the other poster cos I thot, like you and a couple of other !!!!!, he/she was laughing at my wifes misfortune and I am tired of it. he/she wasnt so I apolgised immediately. now if you wouldnt mind wud you go away and annoy someone else0 -

"they" didnt want anything. one director did who manipulated the selection process to get rid of her cos she queried him. Im just ticking off how many company policies he has broken so far and i am up to about 5.....0 -

Forget it Caroline. You can't tell this guy anything. He's got it all sorted in his head and he knows it inside out.
Classic victim mentality.0 -
If Hedger has got victim mentality; then surely the employer has nothing at all to worry about as he and the missus are making the whole thing up.
Whatever anyone thinks of the OP; the Director *ucked up; and it takes a tenacious person to nail them down and get either a compromise agreement or a tribunal.
It's blindingly obvious why she has been chosen for 'redundancy'.0 -

what about this latest revelation (to be included in the damning appeal letter). wife was turned down by the company for the NEBOSH diploma in feb 09 - the director said "no, the company cudnt afford it", even though other males were put through it shortly b4. the real reason was this was just after she queried her pay so she didnt push it any further as he was still fuming.
just found out 2day:
- her direct comparator male colleague completed an £800 training course a few weeks ago, paid for by the company.
- the male H&S manager has started a masters degree, paid for by the company.
Company Equal Opportunities Policy = “employees will be given training and encouragement to achieve equal opportunities and obtain the skills necessary to implement and comply with the requirements of this policy”.0 -

Irrelevant.
Also confirm how they are getting this info. It seems your using office gossip as fact.
If the company didnt want to pay for your wife to do the NEBOSH thing that was their choice.
It may well be they knew fine she was !!!!! and on her way out.0
