Take aways reusing previous days food?

Options
Is this a normal practise? I've not noticed it in chip shops, but it seems fairly regular in Chinese take aways, I've went in a few times shortly after opening time at 5 and got chicken balls like leather due to the amount of times they have been reheated and chips with no potato in them again due to the amount of times they have been reheated, or sauses like tar. I would of thought going in to a take away at opening time you would get fresh food, but I guess not.

Even back in the 60's, my mother wouldn't dream of sending us to the chippie on a Friday until after 5.00pm (they opened at 4.00) as they were known for serving 'warm-ups'!

Hard re-fried chips seems to be the problem around here. We have done away with that by cutting out the delivery and collecting direct from the Chinese.

Yep same here as they would rewarm the leftover lunchtime chips for the first batch. It seems to me though that most takeaways use preprepared frozen chips these days so that might be why they dont reheat so well

Theres a seller around here who has a kiosk selling ? latin american syle food.

The rice is constantly warmed on the fron- ie a half started tray at 8am?? come on

I keep meaning to let EH know of that, rice is one of the most dangerous things to reheat if its not done propely.

It just really gets me annoyed that I cannot find a take-away thats sells decent, fresh food!! Take-aways are supposed to be a treat for me so I dont have to cook or clean up for the night, but I am sick of paying for c**p, and if you say something to them they look at you as though they are gonna kill ya! (the food may well just do that!) So, they lose a paying customer!

I just wish they (and other places) would pull their socks up and start looking after the customer..

    grrrrr
