The ones you can see are probably all on the same multiplexes which are the groups of channels on the same frequency and it's likely you're just having trouble with certain frequency/ies (multiplex/es) that may just be that bit weaker where you are and your TV as suggested may be a bit more sensitive or temperamental."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Have plugged my digi box into the telly running off a scart socket and all the programmes are fine.
Don't know if I should take the telly back.

Arghhh!!
If I was in your situation I would return it and see if you can get a refund or replacement. Where did you get it from? Is it a LCD/Plasma? Maybe you could ring them first and ask.If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
Just a normal LCD 32" from Richer Sounds.
Paid by Credit Card.
Might give them a ring tomorrow.I hate migraines.0 -
I think you really need to test it on another location/aerial first. If it works OK when you take it back to the shop then they're going to think that your aerial must be at fault. If you can say that it doesn't work properly on another aerial, then more chance of them accepting that the tuner may be faulty.
It could just be something like a realignment of your aerial is needed. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Don't know that many people to lug a large telly into their aerial.
Will give Richer Sounds a call tomorrow to see what they say.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with your tv. Its purely because you have a bad signal:idea:0

Then surely it should not work properly with my set top box connected.
Tvs work differently to set top boxes. Most set top boxes have amps built in and WILL work with weak signals (Some tvs do to, but dont amplify as much). Tvs are built to a little more 'exacting standards' where freeview is concerned and so are built on the understanding that the signal entering it will be of sound quality (Which yours clearly isnt)
Until you use a roof aerial its unlikely your going to get good results. You CAN try an amp as it is, but all your doing is amplifying a bad signal in the 1st place which 'might' work. But the picture will never be as good as it could be even if it does.
Ill reiterate ~ theres nothing wrong with your tv and if I wired it upto my roof aerial im 99% sure it would work perfectly. Theres nothing stopping you using your set top box anyways if you absolutely refuse to use a roof aerial (Or cant for some reason):idea:0
