    Hi all,

Just popped on to wish Miss Tru a very happy 18th birthday! :bdaycake:
She shares her birthday with the Haribo twins who by all accounts had a fantastic party yesterday and a great day today....their poor mother is exhausted and Dad and Stepmum are on their way home now.
    Happy anniversary for yesterday Chrisca!
    CoconutQueen, welcome!

I had the week from hell last week so didn't get to post or even read much, but I've had a lovely weekend recovering....dd is home from uni, ds1 has returned from his Duke of Ed expedition in one piece and ds2 went on his first Cub camp this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We took the oportunity to go out for dinner last night and the food was delicious. Today we went to a local sea festival and enjoyed looking around a tall ship, sampling food at the food stalls and enjoying a couple of half pints in the sun outside the beer tent. So not a great deal of Old Style going on at the moment. :o I did cook a barbeque for tea and we ate outside despite the forecast of rain. I'm just off to check my plants and give them a bit of a water. I'll try to catch up with everyone's news later.

    Take care,

    Pink

Tired doesn't even begin to cover it. :o Not as tired as I was 8 years ago after 32 hours labour. :D

Happy 18th birthday to Miss Tru and a big Happy 8th Birthday to my two lovelies. :D Does that mean I must be much younger than you Tru? :p

Great weekend here but I can hardly keep my eyes open. DDad and DStepmum arrived on Thursday and left today. It was so lovely to see them and now I feel a bit homesick. :o The weather was great so we had lots of bbqs, walks on the beach and drinks in the garden. 12 8 year olds descended yesterday and made short work of all the home baking I did for the party including a chocolate fudge cake for Dtwin1 and cupcake tower for Dtwin2.
Lots of leftover today and we took them for a meal tonight. Unfortunately when my mussels came out they were stinking so I sent them back. The waitress then didn't return to take my order until everyone else had finished so I decided against ordering. Just had some birthday cake so I'm full up again now. ;)
Dtwin2 wanted an office set for her birthday but all the ones geared for children were too babyish so I bought her an expanding folder, tonnes of envelopes, stamps, stapler etc etc etc so she has had a lovely day playing secretaries. Dtwin1's favourite present was a shop play set from Auntie Pink. They got such lovely presents from everyone but I have no idea where it is all going to go.
Have spent the last hour pottering in the garden. The toms are doing amazingly well and all the window boxes and baskets are flourishing so it looks very summery. :j Picked up a victorian cast iron fireplace from freecycle today. It is identical to my MIL's which cost a bomb and will look great in the living room to replace the repro one we have.

Haven't looked at the thread for a few days but just want Aussie and Beth to know that I am here if you need to talk.
Hope DNephew had fun Pink. x

Better go and do the packed lunches......

    Haribo x

eta... someone with swine flu has just died in the hospital beside our old house. It is creeping nearer our town all the time. I'm not very worried but I do think it might cause us all some big problems this winter. icon9.gif

Penelope Penguin is a multi talented girl.
She works and is also a board guide.
Now and then she lets her other talent unfurl,
And writes poems that make your smile wide.
But I think it is true and I think you'll agree
That though she does have a talent with verse....
Her real life job is so worthwhile you see
That to give it up for her art would [STRIKE]be really really stupid[/STRIKE] make the CAB much worse. ;):p:D
