Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sun 14th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning.
Woke up early with squiffy stomach... might be the kebab I ate for supper yesterday, or just something going around. Looks to be a nice sunny day. Not sure what time I am going to work, should be 1300, but could be earlier if something happens.
Managed to cut half the grass yesterday, but kept on getting interupted, so had to leave it and go to work.
No idea what meals are on the menu today. I know it's reduced pastries for breakfast.... Maple and pecan Danish!
Car insurance is due and I tried Tesco with the free pressure washer. It would have been cheaper to stick with my current insurance and buy one! Time to do the comparison sites....
Have a nice day...... Cheers

Morning, N9eav, and all who follow.
Looks like a nice day here, too. It must have reached about 30 degrees yesterday, hopefully the same today.
Dinner will be cold meat salad, with one of the lettuces from the garden.
DH has had his petrol mower repaired and serviced; until now he has been struggling with the hover mower and strimmer. What took him six hours with those, took an hour and a half yesterday, so he's really pleased. We have loads of really fast-growing grass out here!
Well, off for another cuppa. I haven't read the thread for yesterday, so I'll try and catch up with you all.
Hope you all have a great day.

N9eav I ended up changing my insurance to AA just recently, after doing comparison sites and was loads cheaper and got lots of M&S vouchers with Pigsback - result!!!
Off to a carboot this morning when OH wakes up - I think I am too excited about the caravan to sleep! I am going away on holiday in 2 weeks and don't really want to go now as I want to use the caravan but it is all booked and it is to Spain after all (Brother has a holiday home there that we can use) so I will stop being ridiculous!!!!! I am very lucky really.:o:D
Weather here lovely again, it really rained hard in the middle of the night but sunny and warm again now. First load of washing on line already.
Off for another cuppa. Will catch up with you all later. Have good days:D

Like nic1lou2 I've been lurking on other sites for the past hour because I don't know how to start a thread:o. DW & WM on, meat out of the freezer ready to turn into chilli later, and it's a totally beautiful day outside:D. Dessert tonight will be home-grown strawberries:j.
Other plans for today - start the final bits of decorating in the lounge and wash/tidy my car as I need it for work tomorrow to take some clients/staff out.
Have a super sunny day everyone, (((hugs))) to those in need. Will catch up later.

Morning Everyone :hello:
Another beautiful day here :j
Been up for a while making pinic for DS & OH who are off to do another boot sale today. DD staying at home as has lots of revision, I will getting the washing and ironing done and mooching about the house. Think will find some time to do a little reading in the garden.
Need to go to inlaws later, only popping there to drop off Fil's birthday pressies. Hope they dont do a barbeque - imagine a pork chop barbequed for 20 mins over flames - then cut into half! MIL is priceless, once there were 8 people at her house for lunch - she did 6 rolls :rotfl:
Anyway, the sun is making me feel energetic at the moment so best put it to good use. Have a lovely day.

Morning :hello:
Happy 18th Birthday miss tru
We've been overdosing on the homegrown saladI'm growing double what I grew last year and it's still not enough so I've been planting more, there's salad leaf trays and radish pots everywhere, and 30 (well I planted 30, a few more have sprouted up from the HM compost, lol) tomato plants with lots of flowers and a few small tomatoes.
Miss tru wants to go out for lunch today. She had a party with her friends last night and stayed out, so I'm not sure she'll be in a fit state to go anywhere :rotfl: We'll see how she feels when she gets in  If she spends the day sleeping off a hangover, then we'll have HM leek and potato soup and rolls.Bulletproof0 -
Morning all,
my 100th post here!:D
Dishwasher is on, the slowcooker was put on last night
ready for lunch today as there is 8 for us this sunday.
Had a great meal last night with Dh, I had a pitcher of
Godfarther cocktail to myself:j and a lovely steak
meal.
Hope you all have a lovely day x0 -
Good morning from sunny Manchester
It's looking lovely so when I woke at 6 I decided to get up to make the most of it. My plans today are to spend some time in the garden as the weeds are growing as quickly as everything else  I've no idea what the children's plans are but it's roast chicken, salad & new potatoes for lunch so it won't spoil if they're out. DH will be in the garden with me. We also want to go for a walk with the dog around a country park that we're lucky enough to have on the doorstep. I also have to do some sewing repairs to various clothes that need some help retaining their good looks
Hope that everyone is well ((((((hugs)))))) if they're needed. Have good days xxx
Edited to add: Happy 18th Birthday to Miss Tru :bdaycake:0 -
