The best free POP email I've found is safe-mail.net. Only 3 Mb storage but no ads. You sign up on http but operate on https.

I had gold but changed to the cheaper silver and have not had any problems at all. Still seems just as fast.

Isn't google mail a POP email? It's definitely free and I would recommend it. Someone on this forum sent me an invite. There is a link somewhere where lots of people offer to send invites. If you're interested and can't find it, you could PM me.
  • Vodka Queen,

As this is Money Saving Expert - can I please point out that if you don't actually require unlimited usage, you're throwing your money away paying £24.99 a month for broadband, let me illustrate:

If you do one year of £24.99 you've spent: £299.88
If you go with a provider who charges the equivelent of £14.99 a month and has a usage allowance that falls within your needs, you've spent: £179.88.

That is the difference of £120.00.

I welcome you to do a compare of AOL against other, less expensive, providers at: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/compare.asp - you'll find that it appears spending more monthly does not always equate to a better service in customer opinion.

£120 would go far if you want to pay off some debt or save towards a holiday....

    Kind regards,
    Samara

I'd make sure you know your usage before switching to madasafish. I switched following this websites offer of 10.99 a month. What I didn't realise is the offer is only for 5gb a month usage. I was with BT with whom it was quite hard to find out your usage. When I switched I now find that I use between 6 and 9 gb a month, which means that I pay £2 /gb over 5. Not such a good deal after all. I'm monitoring my costs in a good ol' excel spreadhseet to compare with what have been my admittedly high, but up to 20gb a month usage with BT

  • Hi Alangent,

I've just had a look at the BT website and the package that comes with 20GB of usage is £25.99 a month for the first three months and then £26.99 a month thereafter.

First year cost on BT's 20GB package: £320.88

First year cost on Madasafish Max Broadband (promotion code cheaper) is: £167.88.

If you did 9GB a month for 12 months, the first year cost is: £263.88.

This is still less expensive than the 20GB BT package (and faster too, 2Mb and opposed to 8Mb).

If you were interested in switching packages to a 20GB product with Madasafish, you can do this free of charge (and it won't add any more time onto your contract). This package is £19.99 a month for six months and then £25.99 a month for the remaining six months. Total first year cost: £275.88. Still cheaper than BT's 20GB package.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

OK thanks Samara, glad to see madasafish are at least taking part. I need to see what my ongoing average usage is; not saying (as I thought I indicated) that I'm unhappy with madasafish, but I need to average my usage over a number of months before upgrading to your "executive "package. (And hey! you may come up with a good deal for that in the meantime???)
