    In the wrong? lmao

I take it you would have taken a credit note and then apologised for causing an inconvenience before leaving the store.

Also Maybe this has more to do with you being spineless and wanting to avoid confrontation at all costs

No, I already know my rights, and therefore would not find myself in this situation.

dc070667, we are used to people posting and then throwing insults around when they realise it is actually themselves that are in the wrong. As previously noted, there is only one person that looks silly here.

My best advice for you would be to put this down to a bad experience, learn from it (both in terms of how to deal with people, and knowledge of your rights as a consumer), and move on.
    Gone ... or have I?

It doesn’t help when staff speak to you patronisingly with a smug grin, I am pretty certain I ruined their day as they did mine, it felt good venting off my spleen with personnel insults, they might have got to keep my money, ironically it came at a price. especially for the goby spotty teen with a huge nose,

But the gobby spotty teen with a large nose has youth on his side, his acne will clear up and he will grow into his nose.

I bet they are laughing at you in the staff room and calling you a few choice names themselves. They probably think it's very funny to have a middle aged man who is too fat to fit into XXL t-shirts shouting so much he almost gave himself a coronary in the shop.

PS there is usually a sign on or behind the till explaining their refund policy or you could ask next time "can I return them if they don't fit?"
:) ~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

If you don’t mind I will politely decline your advice.

I will not change the way I deal with people so as not to offend, in fact I felt I was rather restrained on the whole, I had the urge to knock ten barrels of the metaphorical out of the manager and managed to control myself.

Maybe if more customers stood up for them selves these shysters might think twice before taking liberties with customers.

And please refrain from preaching consumer law especially as Sports Direct operate as a different entity, point being normal rules doesn’t apply, it was not unrealistic in my opinion to expect the same policy as the big retailers, of course a smart Alex like you knew different.

The reality is people like you get a kick of thinking you know it all and preaching to others, a bit sad if you ask me.

You carry on with your meek existence.

Right ladies I think the Bingo Hall is waiting you all.

Make sure your blue rinses are in order first though lmao.

With names like “poppy” and “linaspilibaitisisbatman” I have visions of nothing more than sad lonely demented pensioners trolling on the internet for any kind of attention they can get to compensate for the fact they aren’t getting any attention at home.

Get a life you sad lonely old cows.
