Whats hashing?0

AFAIK, "hashing" is the process of passing source data through a one-way cryptographic algorithm which compresses the input and introduces an amount of entropy to it to produce a much smaller and unique "hash" (aka "digest"). The process is one-way, so it's typically not possible to reverse the hash to reproduce the original input data. It is commonly used as a verification tool for storing passwords and anti-tampering security. Common hashing algorithms include MD5 (Message Digest) and SHA-1 (Secure Hash Algorithm).0

OR "a form of non-competitive cross-country running with the main objective of working up a decent thirst. Great emphasis is placed on the social aspects - particularly the communal boozing session at the aprés-hash. It's a fun activity and not be taken at all seriously."

Re: meeting people, try https://www.meetup.com.
It's mainly interest groups based around, well, interests, as opposed to booze/food, so there are some pretty cheap things on there!
For example, there are loads of 'stitch and !!!!!' groups (knitting and gossip) where you actually save money by making clothes while you attend a social activity.Debt free 4th April 2007.

I think this is a great idea! Looks like we've got a few MSE-ers in the South Wales/Cardiff area... so if anyone's interested in meeting up with like-minded people [does this sound like a personal ad?? It's not, I promise!] post here or PM myself or Caz and we'll see if we can organise a cheap meet up!
PS: Caz – I've sent you a PM in response to yours albeit a few days after you'd mailed me! I haven't been able to get on these forums since last Thurday! I hate my computer!!! :mad:If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0
