Betheebee - ((HUGS)) for you and your nephew. You are having such a tough time just now. Hope your holiday gives you a much needed boost.

Have finished the painting! Hooray! And DH has helped me straighten up all the furniture again. He's now painting the tiles on the windowsill, so can't replace curtains yet awhile. However, DS has rung - may put off coming until tomorrow as he has "stuff to eat up in the fridge, and needs to clean up the flat"!!!! How OS is that then?
Two loads of washing now dry and I've ironed for 45 minutes and been to the gym. Need to get the BM on now.

    Afternoon all :hello:
Its been a lovely sunny day so far, hope it lasts.

Had a really busy day so far....
Hairdresser came to cut my hair, full of appologies as she never turned up last time,
Carpet fitter came early and fitted the carpet in our bedroom
OH has been in the garden all day cutting the hedges/bushes/trees and is now mowing the lawn.
Washing is ready to go out when he has finished
SC is bubbling away nicely with some braised beef and veg
I've vac'd the bedroom and started moving stuff back in, when thats done I am having a HUGE clear out.
The airing cupboard is full of ironing  but I have shut the door on that

    Welcome to Lushlifesaver
Diva - glad the tooth is sorted out now. My gran used to soak the bread in cold tea as well, she also put the sultanas/raisins in some and always used dark brown sugar, and it tasted yummmm
Beth - I am thinking of you and your family, and will say a prayer for you all x
marie - ooo I hope she gets it, fingers crossed
    Pen-Pin - :Twell done you :T
CRANKY - ahhh Don't you think they look sooo grown up in uniform
N9eav - I just love Trago, OH does'nt though  I am in there hours when we get down that way, usually when we visit a friend in Devon.

    Off for a :coffee:now

  • Another Trago lover here - and the Newton Abbot one opened a HUGE new garden department this summer with little garden enclaves that you can sit in and relax in between browsing!! I have spent hours and money there already this summer!

I am making my bread pudding with canderel as I am not using sugar. Loads of dried fruit however has gone into it! It's in the oven now so not long til I can try it..

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

Sunnyday - hope you feel better soon Hun.

Beth - what a lot you are going through with yours around you - never rains but it pours does it? I've been referred a couple of times with strange moles, thankfully been OK both times, but I have a couple more that could probably do with looking at (have hundreds so it is really hard to keep track of them). Do let us know how you get on? Thinking of you and hoping you enjoy your time away.

OS yesterday - bread made, kebabs for supper, braved the hayfever and cut back a couple of shrubs & cut grass. Also went to Lidl for 1st time in ages - is it me or have their prices crept up again? Sure they are not really cheaper than ASDA anymore!

OS Today - nothing yet - meant to sort out the SC this morning with S&S Chicken, but overslept & forgot!

Went for scan #4 today - at last the follicles are growing! ECG results have been examined by the anaesthetist and give the 'all-clear', so am now waiting on tenterhooks for the phone to ring and find out if I am going in on Monday or Tuesday for Egg Collection. Really hoping it will be Tuesday (so knowing my luck it will probably be Monday!).

My call to Dementia Care last week has paid off - mum has a counsellor coming to see her next weds, and they are going to sort out for her to go to a 'drop in' group as well. Not the whole answer I know, but I feel it will help her, and also take some pressure off me, which I need at the moment.

Hoping for nice weather tomorrow (forecast keeps changing) as I have suggested to DH that we go out for the day (and stuff the housework & DIY - hehehe!) just the 2 of us, and have some 'us time'. Next week will be strssful, so I think it will help us to prepare for it a bit.

Hope you all have a great weekend, (((HUGS))) everyone,

    FE.

Edit to say - I had the call - We're going in 7.30am on Monday - 1st on the list! Please keep everything crossed for me.......

    Hi everyone

A bit of a late post, just home from work. The week seems to have flown by and I don't feel I have achieved much OS-wise this week. Most of my energy has been taken up with work and a few sleepless nights haven't helped so hopefully the weekend off will recharge the batteries. On the positive side it was good to see DD1 again and have her stay over one night and the veg patch has survived despite a week of neglect:o. Also OH has booked for us to have dinner out and see the new Terminator film tomorrow so looking forward to that:j.

Beth - ((((hugs)))) to you and your family
FE - glad to hear things are a bit better, good luck for next Monday/Tuesday

Off out again now, have a good weekend all.

    :hello:Hello!

Have only skim-read today, as we're off to france tomorrow for 2 weeks so have been busy getting things ready. I've got some new pretty tops, and have spent a large part of the last 3 days taking up 4 pairs of linen trousers - this will be their third Summer, but I haven't had the spare energy for sewing until now, so I hope it lasts - I so enjoyed using my sewing machine again :D

    Congrats Penny_Pincher and Mr & Mrs Essex-girl! :j:beer: That's great news!

Huge ((((HUGS))) Beth and AussieLass, thinking of you and your families.

Hope all goes well for you FE! So glad your Mum will have some help, too.

Will go now and have a quick look at y'day's thread, then go upstairs to see if DH has left me any room on the suitcase ;)

See you when we get back

Had an email from Tris! I sent him a copy of the song 'Cannonballs' by Damien Rice (YouTube link HERE) and he responded saying he loved the song and was missing talking to me 'something awful'.

Diva, that is one of my all time favourite songs, it always brings a tear to my eye :o, do you have the album, its beautiful, glad you heard from Tris xx

Good luck to FE for monday xx

    Ivy, enjoy your holiday xx
  • Hi all

not much OSing going on here due to the headaches and numb face:rolleyes:
just been to doctors again and they think it may be atypical trigeminal neuralgia with associated focal migrane so have started me on yet more tablets and I have to go back on Monday morning and they are speaking to a neurologist about it all. DS is very loud and it is hard when my head feels like this:eek:
It is worrying me a bit as they have said they cant rule out anything sinister and prob need MRI scan:o cant help worrying.
Have made buns and scones today as tins were empty but it was hard going and had to lie down and sleep afterwards.
FE will be thinking of you on Mon morning, glad your mum has got some help.
MSD glad the toothache is sorted and that you have heard from Tris....yes you are right he probably has a bit of time confusion and doesnt realise the true space of time inbetween your chats.

well off to make tea for me and OH then will be in bed to watch Masterchef.....what an exciting life I have right now

All urgent chores done. Have finished chauffering DD2 (even though she drives and has her own car), shopping (picking up a few items and spending the rest of the time chatting), WM on and now sitting down with dinner (very non-OS:eek:) while watching a soap.

Lushlifesaver - welcome to the thread :hello:

    Hi all

Have had a busy week so not able to post, working and when not working rushing around.

All kids have had some sort of crisis this week leaving me feeling drained. To cap it all DH ex wife turned up on our doorstep this evening, she lives over 100 miles away so never saw this coming. She has never been here before, they have been on holiday and thought they would drop in so that SKID3 could see her Dad, we have not seen her in 13 months as ex will not allow access. Now DH is wondering why I have the hump! We had planned a comfy night at home in front of tv, now so that his ex can have some child free time we get an overnight visitor that we have no bedding for, she has come with no change of clothes and he has to take her home tomorrow!

Maybe I am being unreasonable but I am sure I know what his ex would say if we just dropped in to see her let alone leave a child behind for the night!

Feeling very low at the mo!

    H
