    Hi peeps

a belated "happy anniversary" to Mrs & Mrs Salopman!

    Congratulations to Penny pincher :j

((((HUGS)))) for you and your Nephew Betheebee, enjoy your holiday.

Well i woke up this morning feeling horrible, i`ve not slept properly for the last few nights and it`s finally caught up with me along with some bug or other. I must be really run down as i don`t normally pick things up but i`m really congested and my throat feels like i`ve been trying to swallow razor blades.

I actually got ready for w*rk and then decided not to go so i shoved a load in the wm and had a cuppa before going back to bed but i never fell back to sleep so i`m hoping for a nap later. I have called at the local shop for some lemons and have made honey and lemon with vinegar for my throat and it has eased it a fair bit so i`m hopeful that i`ll be back on form soon - just need to get the sleep thing sorted.

It`s a beautiful day here today and everything looks lovely, lots of flowers are out and it really makes a difference, i had hoped to be in the garden later but will see how i feel. Both houndies are fast asleep and the cat is stretched out on the windowsill in the sun so i may nap now, it is very peaceful.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Thanks everyone:D....yes a TMA is a Tutor Marked Assessment...an essay basically which varies in length depending what level and subject you are doing. I am still abit shocked actually, but feel quite proud of myself.

DW is on atm and washing all up to date, but will have DD's uniform to do over the weekend. House clean and tidy...and toilet cleaned:p

OH has made an emergency dentist appointment for this afternoon as he is in great pain and I think toothache is the worst pain ever!

Anyway, I havent much energy today but wanted to say thanks.

    Hugs to all.

    PP
    xx

afternoon all! milkround went well, its in a lovely bit of countryside. Thanks for the good wished for DH - he's having a sleep now as he was up at 1.30am:eek: he has a long standing back problem that plays up if he overdoes it - rest and extra painkillers usually do the trick.

PP - well done:T(glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know what a TMA was either;))

Betheebee - (((hugs))) hope your nephew is ok.

Essex girl - glad things have worked out for you and DH:j

Aussie - I'm glad your sister is doing so well, it was 5 years last week since DH had his bypass and he is doing well too(except for the bad back)

Have got 2 lemon drizzle cakes in the oven for Mums friend in her 90s - she likes to give some to her family when they visit.
Washing is on the line, bit of ironing to do.
Not much else on today. DS1 is paying a visit later(probably with a bag of laundry:rolleyes:)

hope you all have a good day x

edited to say welcome to lushlifesaver !

    Afternoon OS lovelies! hi.gif

goodluck2.gif to all the children taking exams today and extra hugs.giffor you mums and dads dealing with exam stress!

PenPin - congratulations on passing, that is fab!
Essexgirl - congrats honey, that must be a load off your mind
Julietiff - congrats to your son, that is great!
Sunnygirl - New dentist was lovely and removed the old filling which had been in there since I was 24 and put a new one in. She ground down the tooth a little so the filling would fill the crack that had formed, so apart from a little residual ache, I am all better!
Beth hon - Nothing I can say to make things any better but wanted to say I was thinking of you and your family and keeping you in my prayers. *hugs*
    welcome2.gifto the thread Lushlifesaver!
    Sybils blog link is HERE.

Making bread pudding today - defrosted all the bread I have been saving for weeks and have read a few recipes but decided to make up my own. I have been soaking the bread in cold tea which I remember my gran doing! Will let you know how it turns out.

Had an email from Tris! I sent him a copy of the song 'Cannonballs' by Damien Rice (YouTube link HERE) and he responded saying he loved the song and was missing talking to me 'something awful'. My feeling is that he doesn't 'realise' how much time has passed since he mailed me, so doesn't know how worried I get in between the contact.

It's grey here today but no rain yet. My OH is hoping for a downpour so he doesn't have to water the garden. On the way to the dentist yesterday we passed a garden having a plant sale and we picked up quite a large tub with 3 miniature french bean plants in it, all in flower for just £4! What a bargain! The red and white flowers are really pretty too.

Warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who wants or needs one.

    Afternoon all,

Had a hasty visit from my favourite cousin this morning....he has promised to come back one day next week to have a good catch-up, so that will be nice.

DD4 says that if I get rid of all junk in kitchen and clear all surfaces she will start painting it on Sunday....I will be glad if she does the ceiling, wrecks my back, don't mind walls. She had a bit of a boost this morning, dropped in her CV to the secondary school 5 minutes from DGSs school and the principal rang her to go back and have a chat with him....they are apparently having problems getting full-time Irish teachers (the language that is, not nationality!) and as that is her main subject she is hopeful that something will work out there, even on a temporary basis. She is still applying for everything that comes up, even though some locations would be difficult without moving DGS from his current school, which she doesn't want to do if possible, he is very happy there.

Good news Essex girl and PenPin...I didn't know what a TMA was either.
Beth....hugs to you, your nephew and your brothers.
Cranky....always a plus when they are happy about school.
Aussie....welcome back.....where has DGS gone?? Hugs
Diva...glad that you have had your tooth sorted.
    Welcome lushlifesaver
Belated happy anniversary to Mr & Mrs Salopman.
