I guess we've all got stories like this
I have a friend who's girlfriend is pretty strapped for cash because she's paying off a house as well as paying half hte rent on the place they live in together. So he often pays for her (which is fine, up to them to work that out!). But what bugs me is that we'll go out for dinner or drinks and they'll say that he's paying for her - so he should in theory pay 2/3s of the bill, or buy two rounds to my one. But it never works out like that, and I end up stumping up for her part of the bill as well.
It really annoys me, so I got in quick at dinner last week and quite pointedly only put down a third of the bill. The subtle ways are easier, you don't want to ruin a friendship over it. But it really is taking the proverbial!0 -
