Unwanted gold adverts?

I think martin has a thread on the gold buyers on the grabbit board, I have recently had a clear out and had loads of broken jewellry and as the economy is so unstable people are buying into gold hence the price hike.
I used the company we buy old gold as recommended by martin, and I can honestly say they were excellent and even sent me a freepost special delivery envelope,so my goods were safe in post!
Certainly worth using if you have any old gold and they paid the money into my a/c straight away, after they'd rung me with a valuation and I came to an agreement on a price.
Can't say fairer than that,hope this helps!!!0 -

both being lost in transit, or at the other end..
i would take to local dealers, and keep within your sight at all times!
Just a note bag is not obviously addressed, and is very discreet, you would'nt know what was in the shipment.0 -
Ive no idea Ivrytwr
Just found it strange that lately thats all the adverts I keep seeing on daytime tv (i know i know its bad)
I just wonder how dodgy it is one of them sends you an envelope and then gives you a price once they recieve the pieces so surely they could undercharge you etc
Guess thats the risk with selling into a market your not sure about
I f you weigh the gold before you send it,you can go on the net to find out how much it is roughly fetching per gram, this gives you an idea.
The company I used were very proffessional and not at alll dodgy.0 -
The advert is presented by a right odd looking bunch though, isn't it? Not-at-all-obvious-that-I'm-reading-this-to-camera..... Awful, cheap ad with 'real' people in it. I don't want 'real' people, I want something nice to look at. I can look out of the window and see 'real' people, and it ain't pretty, I can tell ya!
Sorry, rant over.... I am approaching the peak of my grumpy old woman phrase! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

If anyone wants to use this kind of company, I can recommend one called 'We Buy Old Gold'. I actually came across lots of recommendations for them on here, on another thread and decided to give them a go. I got about £350 for my stuff, my mum then tried and got £2000 but she did send a lot more than me.
You contact them via the web, they send you a royal mail special delivery envelope, free post so its all insured.
I am nothing to do with them, but type their name in and you will find other recommendations.
Based in Scotland, lovely older guy and couple of women. Ever so friendly and professional and sent me money really quickly. You can also recommend other people to them and then they send you commision. I got £75 for recommending my mums friend :-)
Anyway have a search and you will see. I went to a local gold shop and they offered me less than 25% of what I actually got!Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
hm.. £350 seems to be a popular amount,, is this thread being hijacked by gold merchants?!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
This is the original thread that was in the email, plenty of happy customers there...

Not at all!! God, what do you have to do on here to give a good recommendation without someone thinking that you are the company.
It wasn't exactly £350, because they weigh it up it was something like £352.14, but I was saying approx. I actually found the company through this site, but on a different thread and gave them a go, now I am just passing that on.
Just be careful with high street shops etc, as I have found their quotes a hell of a lot lower than others that weigh it etc!Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
I buy up bits of gold jewellery at car boots and fetes and on ebay even if broken and then sell on. I found the best and most honest buyer is a shop that advertises on ebay. They pay 90% of the daily gold fix and change their published price daily in line so you know exactly what they pay, they ve a jewllery shop you can visit or pay by return in the post (i go there when i am in London but have posted before). I've tried other postal services or local jewellers but they tend to pay about 60% of the price !!
Their current ebay ad is on ebay item no 380134695308
Hope that helps others to profit !!!0
