    Morning peeps

nice and sunny here today which is very welcome after the enormous amount of rain yesterday. The thunder and lightening seemed to go on forever as there was no wind to move the storm on so it hovered overhead for an age.

Yesterday i spent the whole morning in the garden and planted lots of young plants outside , i shall pop out shortly and assess the damage, lots of local roads are closed as we had some terrible damage caused by the water.

Sistercas - Luckily i didn`t have to go into Sheffield yesterday but DH did, it took him an age to get home last night.

N9eav - Happy Anniversary, enjoy yourselves tonight.

Today i shall be cleaning upstairs and baking :D I need to make cakes and biscuits as the freezer no longer has any goodies inside, i`m quite looking forward to it actually.

The houndies are watching my every move as it`s almost time for their walk, i shall make a move and check in later.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning peeps

Work again today :(. I'm really not enjoying it anymore, been there only 5 years but its getting really boring now. Applied for something a couple of weeks ago but didn't even get to the interview stage. Ideally would love to be able to start up own business but funds do not allow this :(.

OS wise washing was done overnight but not sure if I dare hang out as forecast is for showers today and I don't know that DS1 will remember to get it in!

Managed to change both DS's phones and contracts yesterday. Between them they were costing my in xs of £50 a month  but now they will have brand new phones and it'll be £15 each a month instead! :T They don't get pocket money so I don't mind paying for their mobiles each. And I feel happier knowing I can get in touch with them or they me if needs be. They are 15 and 11 - DS2 is very small for his age and I do worry more about him than DS1 - but then DS1 is 6ft tall and built like the proverbial (SP) toilet house!

    Happy days people.

Ah well I'll try again

    Mornin :hello:
Looks like being a nice sunny day here, hope so I got mountains of washing to do.

Been MIA for a while, went down south to set up caravan then on holiday with all the family for a few days in Poole.
It was lovely all of us together for the first time in goodness knows how long, and with our new DGS it just made it perfect.
He is 17mths old now, it was his first holiday ever and he loved every minute of it, especially as the girls were there, they fussed over him like little mother hens, he lapped it up. Just to see a 3yr old and a 5yr old leading him by the hand well all you Mums/Nans/Grandmas out there know exactly what I mean, I just melted,
Cant remember if I told you all but the adoption papers are in and we just have to wait for the court decision now which will be in September.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY N9eav and have a lovely meal, it will be 42 yrs for us this year on July 1st, crikey its a lifetime, but by heck we've had some fun along the way ;) Portland is a great place OH has lots of family living on the island in Easton, his Uncle was in the Police force something to do with the underwater weapons.
We spent many a happy hour there when our DS's were growing up.
Halight - Its all go at yours then, good idea asking Mom to look after the twins and I bet she is loving every minute of it :A
nimbo - NSD for me today as well, that will be 3 in a row, I'll be loaded at this rate... NOT...;)
PennyPincher - hope you feel better soon x
Essex-girl - What a good idea and very OS :T Bet he really looks forward to his birthday's
redruby - ahhh how sweet, comes as a shock though when they start growing up does'nt it

Washings just finished so better get it on the line,
OH is looking at me so I guess he wants his brekkie- cornflakes and toast, think I'll have a toasted muffin.
Lunch is beans on toast for OH and tomatoes on toast for me

I have a recipe for sausage meat its called Farhoodled sausages a SC recipe from my friends DS in New Zealand, so I aim to give that a go when OH is out and I can concentrate
I might leave it until tomorrow, he is taking the car to DS2's workshop for a service so he will be out most of the day, and will probably make himself useful by answering the phone, doing the banking and gofering for DS2.

So Dinner will be pasta bake, that reminds me I must check up what spices I am running short of.
    Better go

Morning everyone - how are you all? Not been about for the last week, with being away and suchlike. Had a lovely time away catching up with friends and family. Saw my neice and nephew too, which is always as bonus. They're 2 and 8 months, so changing every time we see them.

It's cold here just now, had to have the heating on last night for a while - it's June too, what's going on?

    N9eav - Happy Anniversary!

PenPin - Sorry to hear you're not well, hope you're feeling better soon.

To everyone else, hope all is well and that the sun is shining on you today. Have a good one :)

    Morning All,
Thanks for all your support yesterday.:o
DS went to work yesterday afternoon, and his collegues were all telling him to go for it,so was his boss. I spoke to his Dad about it, and he agrees that he should try again. y the time he came home, he'd decided the same thing.:T
He is now going to live with Dad at the beginning of July instead of the end, as I'd have to find the train fare four times otherwise (that's £60 a time from Euston, and £20 a time to get to London)
He has a revision day to do on the 9th July, and a re-sit on the 23rd. I hope he listens to what he has to do this time, and passes. If not, he'll have to re-assess things. At least his Dad and Stepmum are with me. He certainly seemed much happier when he came home. He's got college this afternoon, and I'm sure his tutors wil also be encouraging.

N9eav- Happy Anniversary!:T:beer: I got to 20 years before I divorced.:rotfl:My parents had been married for 53 years when my Mamma died, so hang on in there!:rotfl:

Sun is shining here today, washing to do in a minute.

Enjoy the day, and thanks again for all your advice!

  • Good afternoon all. Sunny and warm here, at least for the moment.

The fridge freezer and I are having words today. I have been needing to switch the way the doors open since we moved and am just getting to it today.:o I don't think I've ever had a fridge freezer with such a set up for switching the doors. I shall persevere and I will win in the end! :rotfl:

One of the other flats is totally decorating now and one is ready to be let. It really looks good, even if I do say so myself. I'm very pleased with the results. The landlord was pleased also. Sometimes the small things make you smile and feel good.

The other flat? New kitchen to go in on Monday. Only 2 slight problems. The design of the new kitchen is rather different than how it was. The wallpaper that is on there was put on around the cabinets. No new cabinets are going on that wall now. Stripping the existing, sizing the walls, applying new paper and painting appear to be now thru the weekend plans. The other prob is that the flooring was put down with the old base unit for the sink still in place. Due to the change in layout, there's going to be a large portion of floor without the lino on it. I'm calling the flooring guys today to see if they can seam a piece in or if it will have to be re-done. Hoping for the former for sure.

Off to put a load of laundry in WM and wrestle the fridge freezer doors into submission. :D

Lots of hugs and good thoughts for all. Sorry for the lengthy post.
