There have been discussions about this on other threads, the general consensus is that warm air heating is difficult to control, expensive to run and raises dust.
Look at this as a chance to start fresh. I know what its like when you get a new house as there is so much to do but you could look at all the alternatives. From using conventional radiators to underfloor heating. This has come down in price a lot and you could have it fitted while you were doing other alterations.0 -

I think you can get oil and certainly electric warm air CH. After all it is simply a fan blowing heat from the source to different areas of the house via ducting. I have a property in America that has Electric warm air heating via ducting - the heater is also an air conditioning unit and uses the same ducting to all of the rooms.
I suppose a electric fan heater could be considered 'warm air heating'0 -
sorry i didnt realise there was a variety lol. mine has oil <i think>and powered by gas i think, im concerned about the dust bit but ive heard i may be able to buy filters? You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on0

I had warm air heating in a previous house and it is in my mother's house, both gas fired.
I found it to be efficient, not difficult to control and never had any problems with dust. It heats the house very quickly from cold but it does cool down quicker as you don't have residual heat left in the radiators etc, but residual heat is often wasted heat.
One thing to remember if you do remove it and have a radiator system installed - you will lose a lot of flexibility with regard to furniture location. You'll be surprised how much wall space (and hence adjacent floor space) the radiators use up. The warm air vents, floor or wall, don't occupy much space. Set against this is the fact that a warm air system heating unit takes up a fair bit of space - but if you remove it can you recover all the space ?

I was talking about this with a teacher at school the other day.
He said a school in the borough used this system and it is the pits.
He said that virus's spread like wild fire as it is the same air being circulated around the school, if someone was ill the whole school would catch it. He thinks that warm air heating should not be used anymore.
I had never heard of it till Thursday!:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.

We currently have it and find that it is good at heating the downstairs but bad at heating upstairs - you literally pass a thermocline half way up the stairs where it becomes really cold.
And I thought heat rose ---- bizarre!
Personally we are planning to upgarde to Central Heating when we remortgage later in the year0
