Calling all oil rig workers - help

My husband is travelled up to aberdeen today to start a new job offshore tomorrow, someone lifted his bag on the train instead of his own and it has his passport in it, there was no information of ownership in the other bag. Will he be able to go offshore without his passport? He has to get a flight up north and then a helicopter offshore! He has a scanned copy of his passport on our computer, could he use this?. He has worked offshore previously but not with this company!
Please give me good news? this is the first job he has had in 4 months!!!!!

Didn't want to read and run....has he reported this to the police?
The bag may be handed in, especially as it contains his passport.
Has he got his driving licence with him?

  • yes he reported it to the police so hes hoping the other guy will realise and hand it in! His drivers license is a paper one (dont ask) never replaced it!!!

Laughing at your name tho, how appropriate for my husband!!!!

Where's the rig? Is it in the UK sector? I don't think they need it for there. My husband is in his bed right now or I would have asked.

My son is offshore just now. I'll have a look in his bedroom and see if I can find his passport somewhere.

Fancy me not knowing this lol
  • When he worked offshore before he always had to take his passport with him, they actually have to check in like at an airport! Yes fancy you not knowing that LOL :rotfl:

    I'm sorry, I couldn't find my son's one.

My husband was looking for his last week so I just assumed he hadn't taken it with him for a while. He's just came back to the North Sea after working in Russia. I know he needed it there! lol

Fingers crossed for your husband. Sorry I wasn't any help.
  • im pretty sure my ex doesnt need his passport now he works off of hull, or blackpool.. somewhere up north (i dont know... i rarely listen now i dont have too! lol)

you dont need it to fly within the uk, so he shouldnt need it for the chopper to work..

good luck with the job, and good luck to you too... being a rig wife can be hard work sometimes

Thank you for your reply! Everything is going wrong for us at the moment so this is just the icing on the cake!!!

It is hard, i see you have a family too, we have 2 children aged 4 and 1, they seem to adapt a lot better than me but with the time off, my husband gets to spend a lot more time than working all the hours when he was at home.

    Thanks again
