I find that Primark jeans no good if you have a tendency to get the gape on the waist. If you want sensible bootcut at a good price then it is New Look Hula which come in different lengths and are good for pears so I am guessing that they would be good for hourglasses.

Primark USED to have those skater-style jeans and they fit perfectly, but since then it's gone downhill (Well except for the leopard print ones that fit like a glove - but not really everyday wear items!) so since then I gave up buying jeans and wore out all the old ones.

I shall have to go look at the new look ones you suggested this week and give them a try, thanks!

I love topshop jeans, the material is very soft and comfortable and as I am tall 5'10" I buy the tall range and they fit me perfectly!

Another vote for Topshop jeans in their Tall Range, I bought a pair about 5 years ago that still look great.

I am 5'9'' and apple shape and a size 10 and find that New Look Hula jeans are also a perfect fit, wash well and they go up to inside leg 36'' in their Tall range, although these are £12 not £10. I now have four pairs ;)!

Ah.. reading this thread I see there is at least one convert to NYDJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans). I've just had a frustrating morning trying to find jeans that fit - I found some Levis that were lovely but too low rise for my tum and other assorted jeans that fitted like a dream but were loose around the back waist. When I was in John Lewis the assistant suggested I try on some NYDJ which I was about to until I saw the price tag of £120! Now I wonder if I should have done as I came away with nothing.

I've looked on their website and they do look appealing, not least for the tummy tuck bit:

And they do seem cheaper there than in John Lewis too.

Any one else have a pair of these?

I love the hula jeans, I have spent varying amounts on jeans and found these to be best. Our new look however is one of the largest stores, it has just re-branded everything and the hula are no longer called hula, but they looked the same. However after buying two pairs and getting them home (normally hula are the only item of clothing I can buy off the peg.) they are much cheaper denim, lower waisted (great if you are smaller but with my post-baby belly I need the high waist, believe me :) ) So I'm going to have to take them back and go off in the search for new jeans boo hoo!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I like the look of those NYDJ jeans, I'll have to think about them for the future. I have some areas I can't feel and have actually been rubbed quide sore by ''hard'' denim on the waist, without noticing. :( Makes me a bit wary of jeans.

The best jeans I ever had were from Primark, about 10 years ago now. I was a bit dubious when a friend thought they'd look good, and there was no where to try on, but when we got home they looked so amazing, I went back the next week to buy more for the future and they'd all gone :( I loved those jeans, :( They wore really badly though, and became cut offs very quickly :(. they were the only pair of jeans I've ever felt entirely happy with.

You can rely on offspring to tell it how it is!

Mine tell me I'm wearing 'jack-ups' by which they mean high rise jeans, I think. At my age and shape that makes sense.

PS I'm not size 22 thankfully though!

I know you are all going to balk at the cost but trust me these are worth it.

    NYDJ, in butterwash.

They are the BEST jeans in the world. If you are a size 14+ they are sooooooooo cut for women, so comfortable, so worth it.

They wore (tore) at the crutch (just below the mooie:o).

So its back to Per Una for me:D

I messed up buying jeans last week, was so ecstatic at finally being in a size 14 I bought them, forgot to try n sit down with them on tho :rotfl: So they will be my work jeans until the belly goes down some more :rotfl:

Don't you find it's getting harder to find nice boot cut jeans and it's all skinny jeans these days?

Found the Tesco ones in a size 14 were big at the crotch/!!! and fine at the waist, tried the 16 and they were just enormous all over. Pair of 14 in Primark too big all over, but the 16s fitted, typical primark eh?

Will try n get into NL to try those jeans next month. Desperately need jeans but hate spending too much money on them as I haven't lost all the weight that I wanna lose yet.

  • Big thanks to those who suggest Dorothy P's Skinny Flare jeans. 2 pairs for £25 at the moment and I had a 10% off voucher, so £22.50 for two pairs. Superb, good fit and the 'short' are the perfect length (which is normally my big prob with jeans).
