Wireless Connection Not working

DHCP disabled could be the problem. Also, what is the reason for using 4.2.2.2 as a DNS server?Superman wrote:Wireless adapter connection 2
Connection – specific dns suffix
Description: Netgear WG111 Wireless USB
Dhcp Enabled: No
IP Address: 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS servers: 192.168.0.1, 4.2.2.2
First, make sure that DHCP is enabled on your router (use a wired connection to check). If it isn't you'll probably have to reset the router to enable it.
Next, open Network Connections, right-click Wireless Network Connection and click Properties. Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'. Click OK and Close and the Wireless Network Connection should reconnect and pick up an IP address - check using ipconfig/all.0 -
DHCP is probably not relevant to this issue. Unless the router's subnet mask has been changed, the client's IP address is in the same range as the router, so should be OK.
I'm struggling to understand why the pings to the router are not being returned yet those from Yahoo are. Have you changed some of the security settings on the router? I still think a reset to the router factory defaults may be worth trying if you haven't already.
I'm also really starting to wonder if someone else has a similar router nearby on the same channel and that's causing some problems. If you can, download netstumbler from http://www.netstumbler.com/ and see what else is around you. What goes around - comes around0 -

I have tried this and it won't work that s why I entered 4.2.2.2. This is my alternative DNS and I was told to use by Netgear Helpline.0 -

Thanks but I have also tried re booting the router and changing channel.0 -
To make sure we're talking about the same thing. Rebooting is when you cycle the power. Resetting to the factory defaults is when you hold in the little button on the back of the router and it puts it back to the way it came out of the factory. What goes around - comes around0
