Wireless Connection Not working
Comments

okay...
So...
You have the netgear adsl router and one computer 'wired' and one computer 'wireless'
The wired one works ovr LAN (but slow) and the wireless one works?
But you cant connect to the net? Is this right?0 -
Correct.
I have tried both with a wire and they work, but both wont work wirelessly.
The one connected by a wire is slow due to the computer not the connection. The 2nd computer was fast when connected by a wire.

please post ipconfig /all output, remove hardware address from post.
I wouldn't waste any money on a new router yet, the new one may have the same problem..
The last thing to try if all else fails is to reset the router completely to factory state, using the button on the back, but you will have to re-enter your broadband password etc..
Can you get into 192.168.0.1 yet?
This is a BT line isn't it?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I had problems setting mine up, mainly because I did not really know what I was doing. A friend of dh came round last night and has now set it up for me and my Outlook Express is now sending and rec e mails which I could not get to work before. Hope you manage to get yours to work, I must admit the instructions are not very helpful.0
-
And what are you using for the wireless? A USB stick or Wireless NIC?0
-
I am using a wireless USB stick and it is a BT line yes.0
-
The existing router belongs to my house mate and I have got an item from pixmania which I have got to exchange for something else so I may just get a new router.0

As asked several times before on this thread, please post the output of the ipconfig/all command. Disguise any IP address not beginning with 192 or 169. Remove the Physical Address from the ipconfig/all output if you like, however I don't think there's any security risk if you don't.
Also, the output from the following commands will be useful:
ping 192.168.0.1
pathping 192.168.0.10 -
I will do it tonight without fail!!!
Sorry I ahvent had the opportunity before now.0 -
