I have now complained three times to the post office via the web add given on the website contactus@royalmail.com. They have absolutly, overwhelmingly, honestly, thoughtfully apologised--several times.

Nothing has changed. I complained this time because birthday cards that I knew had been posted had not arrived. Not a big deal perhaps, but it was an 18th b'day and some of the cards were from friends/family who live abroad that we don't see very often.

It does seem that the post is being "targeted" so that certain items are almost certain never to arrive, or in some cases arrive having been opened. It is time that this incompetent, out-of-date useless company is dismanteled.

The customer services line just e-mails the revelant sorting office manager with any problems. The problem is that often they lose the e-mails. I have lost my temper with customer service staff on several occasions depsite them not really having anything to do with the problem. In the end I spoke to a manager at the customer serivce line who finally got the problem sorted.
I think the problem is that if you have rubbish service with them your still use them. If you went in Tesco and you had awful service and when you complained they did nothing your'd probably boycott the store and get your family to do the same. If you have bad service with Royal Mail then your still keep using them. Maybe the government needs to impose some kind of penalties on Royal Mail for every complaint. Otherwise why should they try any harder or try and please anyone?

Royal Mail Customer Services are sooo bad!

I had a track and trace number and the letter never left the branch where I paid for it to be sent as Special Delivery..

Trying to get a response by phone or email was very painful!

I'd gone to the counter and payed for it, they gave me the receipt with the tracking ref number on it etc and I left. Couple of days later the internet tracking system which tells you latest status still said it was at the branch, I called them and they said to check again in a couple of days. Did this, still last location was at the branch.
Found out you have to fill in a form for a refund as they have no idea where my letter is, filled that it and got a silly letter which was incorrect - the whole thing was a right pain!
Finally they sent me a letter saying they'd enclosed a book of stamps, nothing in the envelope! :rotfl:

so true. I don't use them to send anything I couldn't lose--so just postcards for children and maybe Christmas cards, that sort of thing. The real problem is the stuff that others send to us. If its really important I always try and take it, or in the case of a passport this yr we used the PO service--at least we had proof that it had been sent. I think its really funny tho that they used a delivery service to send them back out and don't trrust the Royal Mail!!!!!
