Sistercass that is terrible news - makes you realise whats important really. (((hugs))) huge hugs for this family.

Hillstep I also dont really know what to say as my kids are younger and I dont have to face these sorts of things yet. I think the best advice that has been given is to leave it a couple of days but sometimes we can only advise them but they will have to make their own mistakes. Hope that makes sense.

Had an urgh day today, have done the bathrooms but thats about it, really cant be bothered at the moment and my get up and go has certainly got up and gone. Think maybe its the weather, they have changed the forcast and looks like the rain is here to stay for the next few days. Nothing inspires me not even food - now that is scary  it doesnt really matter - everything will be there still tomorrow.

Anyway, need to post some letters and DS will be home anymoment.

    afternoon all,

Morning was lovely here, slight breeze but warm....seems to have clouded over a bit now, but am hoping to get out in a bit to pot up some geranium cuttings I have rooted, like to have a few pots to put here and there around the front of the house, as we have rather a lot of concrete coming right up to the front of the house....flowers just in planters.

Dinner to-day is beef casserole, stewing beef, herbs, lots of veg, glug of wine and 2 stock cubes...all in oven on low heat so should be nice, need to make some bread too.

Donnygal...I would find any old cleaning cloths, especially oily ones and hang them proudly on my line....stupid woman needs taking down a peg or two...she is obviously suffering from what I can the beggar on horseback syndrome!

Feeling a bit better in myself these days, actually seem to have some energy, which is a nice surprise, need to do something positive with it now!

Hilstep... if your son is determined not to resit the exam let it be....how old is he?I am assuming 18 or so. He may be one of those who will be better off going to college later on, a bit of hard work won't do him any harm in the meantime and may help him to really determine what he wants to do with the rest of his life.

Hugs to all in need or want

Sistercas - so sorry to hear such terrible news. I don't know what else to say, I can't even start to imagine the devastation they must be feeling.

Hilstep2000 - just give it a couple of days to start with. He is obviously quite shocked as well as disappointed and hopefully this is just an initial reaction. DD1 had to resubmit a couple of bits of work last year but the tutors were really helpful. If he is adamant about leaving and finding a job I would agree with meanmarie. It may just help him discover what he really wants and at his age he has time on his side.

OS-wise - dinner is spagbol from freezer tonight, was meant to be used last night but no-one was that hungry and so we finished the salad instead. DD1 is home tonight so will have to find something veggie for her.

Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) to those in need.

  • Sistercas thats terrible news!! you cant begin to think what she must be going through

    Absolutely throwing it down here:rolleyes:
Just been to GP and they have started me on some tablets for nerve pain in my head or migrane as they are not really sure what it is......I have to go back on Friday and if the pain is still there I may need MRI scan. I have to watch closely for any further numbness or increase in pain or drooping etc and get straight to hospital:eek:

    Hi again back now.

TBH she is not a bad neighbour just has illusions of grandeur, but if anyone needs anything she is always there, but if you know me you know you'd know I will keep on doing if I think it is right. I find it rather amusing:rolleyes:

sistercas dreadful news, we have a couple who caravan with us whose son has tried a few times aged 26, its awful. :grouphug:
Diva how's the tootchache - managed a dentist
    Pen-pin How are you today?
NPM - You look after yourself and get off to the hospital at the slightest change.
Hillstep - If your DS is finding the entrance exam hard, then he may not enjoy uni, apart from the social side that, it is a total waste of his time and money (probably yours) if he comes out after the first year, and/or with a degree which no-one rates. Maybe he can find something that offers work based training rather than exams. What did he want to study?
M-M glad you are feeling better these days:j
Jackie - Glad your results were good news :j
Elona drove through Taddy yesterday gave you a wave but you didn't know I was there :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Twink - Congrats on becoming a granny again. Boys are lovely but shopping for baby girls is a MUCH more pleasant experience and so much choice!

Hilstep - sorry to hear about your son's grade. I think the advice to speak to his tutor is a good idea.

Sistercas - sorry to hear about your friend. that's so tragic.

    Evening folks
Not posted for a while, DS2 keeps pinching computer & I've been trying to get sorted for a weekend away. Going to Scotland to my dad's village where he grew up, to scatter his ashes somewhere - he always wanted to go home, such a shame it has to be like this. :(
Plus point is that we'll get to meet some of his cousins we've never met, mum keeps getting 'phone calls saying so-and-so is coming, list's getting longer! :rotfl:
Only OS today was getting up with toddler at 0630 & doing all my ironing  - first time in ages I've got up to date. Got to shop tomorrow so DH & DS2 have some food in while I'm away - got a coupon for £5 off £30 spend at MrM, so shouldn't be too bad. I got paid today, so I'll have a bit of cash for my trip. :D
Apart from weekend, will make myself keep on here - lurk a lot, not often time to sit & post & keep reading all day/night!
Tomorrow's plan is still under review - [STRIKE]hope[/STRIKE] need to get up at 0600 to finish things for leaving very early Friday 'cos we're driving!
