Hi there! This is the Daily Thread forWednesday 10th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning.
Cool and foggy down here.
Should be my day off, but I have decided to work and get time back. Somthing interesting came in last night and I want to be part of it. So I shall go isometime soon.
Managed a nice curry for tea though and glass of port, so relaxing evening.
Garden needs some serious work, so I hope the weather brightens up soon.
Hope everyone is well..... Enjoy your day...

    Morning

Dull as ditchwater here. Am expecting boxes of belongings from overseas today.:j Have been surviving on a suitcase of clothes for the last few months since I moved back to blighty, so today is a red letter day indeed:D

    Good Morning All

Dry here at the moment so may chance some washing. Forcast for the weekend is good though :j

Nothing exciting happening here today, some office work but the main agenda item is cleaning bathrooms today. Also want to route around the drawers and sort out some more stuff for ebay, have some books to sell so will investigate amazon as well.

Not sure what is for dinner, will consult the menu plan also need to use up some dried blueberries so probably will make muffins too.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Morning all,

Dull and overcast here too, no washing out today, will have to do a wash tonight and get it on the airer.

Off to work today, which is really busy at the moment, which also makes the day go faster :T.

Pasta with salmon and honandaise for tea tonight its one of our favoutites and a quick 15 minuite meal. Rubbish and garden recycling to go out today.

Will have a quick swipe round this morning, and a tidy through, yesterday I dropped a bottle of fabic conditioner off of the kitchen counter, the lid broke, and it went everywhere, I had to wash all the counters and cupboards down, and the floor was washed 3 times , on the plus side it smells lovely, but it is very sticky, so will have to give it another go tonight.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

    Good Morning Chums,
another day of rainy weather by the looks of it.Good luck to all of those who are taking their physics GCSE's today ,both of my granddaughters are. Not a lot to do today as all the washing and ironing is up to date.Might make some cakes, as the tins are looking a bit thin, down to only a couple of small ones left at the moment. When are we going to get some sun,it's been really grey for the past few days, and more like November than flaming June.I think we could all do with some sunshine to cheer us up a bit.
I have been watching my catch-up t.v. and saw a very funny programme about a family whose Mum decided to turn back the clock to the 1970s.It was very good as the 21st century five children seemed to think that not having all the t.v's and games consuls almost constituted child abuse and to have to get off the butts and actually help their Mum was almost beyond their comprehension. It was amusing to see how things have changed even after only thirty years. One of my granddaughters watched it with me and I told her that the upbringing was very similar to her own Mum's.
She said 'You mean you only had one t.v. in the house?' I said yes and very little daytime t.v. at all, it only went on for the news at 6.00.p.m. after all the homework was done. Back to the programme, it showed how families ate,and talked and did things together in those days and how life ,especially at week-ends had changed for everyone and not always for the better I think.Few shops were open on a Sunday so there was none of the flocking to the supermarkets or DIY stores.Families actually talked and visited each other.Strange concept for a lot of people I think today.Excellent programme and I thoroughly enjoyed it .The aftermath for the family was that they actually found themselves enjoying being a family and seemed to become closer which was good. The mum didn't seem to have to run around after them so much either.
Well time to go and have some breakfast as I have the school run this morning for my three youngest DGS
Hope everyone has a nice day and to those who have to work don't fret, only two more days then its the week-end
    Cheers chums

    Morning everyone
Did as I thought last night and got up before 6 and the ironing is now all done. Will try to sort out what I am taking away with me soon and then not wear any of that ;).

My neighbour drew her blinds down on our side of the bungalow when I hung the washing out, and moaned to another neighbour tht she could not invite her friends when I hung it out. Shame I don't have a routine and wash when the weather is most suitable:rolleyes:

Over the other side of the Pennines today to get the car sorted (minor niggles) so no much OS apart from tea tonight when I get back, which I think will be the balance of the Toad in the Hole from Monday, with veg and mash again. Will make a snack to take with us.

Good luck to all those in exams.

:grouphug: to those not up to par.

    Take care - DG

wow i'm feeling really good this morning.

    big hugs to all :)

i have remembered my lunch, and am determined to make it a NSD.

tonight i have grand plans that involve clening the front room, and maybe clearing the kitchen table...

last night i was good. i gok'd a skirt... am just a bit proud of myself for not just hacking away at it, and messing it up... i measured it, and cut it to the right length, and have sewn a load of buttons onto the back pockets, in bright funky colours so they match the coloured stitching that was already there...

i realise that i don't get a prize for knowing how to thread a needle, but i'm still really chuffed.... haha

why? is your laundry the type they have in Harry potter that goes for people that annoys it?

i'd take to pegging me knickers out, the tiny ones that have never even been worn just to wind her up even more.... haha.... sorry i'm a bit infantile, but that really does take the biscuit...

    Morning Everyone

A bit grey and grim here this morning but still dry so I've hung a load of washing out on the line in hope:confused:

I've been a busy bee this week as I've written myself out a cleaning rota.I've been finding it harder to keep on top of the cleaning and hopefully this will work out and keep the house cleaner.I dusted the stairs this morning.Hmm lets just say the dust bunnies had bred:o.Its the little jobs with me that never get done through lack of time so I've rota'd in all the little jobs so they get done regularly too

After dropping the kids off at school I'm going to do my wii fit and then head off to meet OH for lunch. If its nice I'll call at the park on my way back to let ys have a play

Spag Bol for tea here with the last of the confirmation cake for pud

Donny-gal-I'm afraid I would hang out all my skimpiest and sexiest washing on the line too.At least it would give the old bag something to really talk about:rotfl:

MSD-I'm hoping you've got the dentist today and can get rid of the horrendous pain you've been in
