Morning everyone.
Cloudy here but nice and bright so can't complain.
DS has a group photo shoot this morning at pre school. Can't see him sitting still and behaving for that one but maybe he'll suprise me!!
BM is on. Haven't got a clue about tea. It's taken me all my time to get things ready this morning for some reason. Any of you have days like this? I feel like everything is taking twice as long as normal......
Desperately trying not to wear my clean clothes that I have ready for hols. But it's not as if I have shed loads of stuff to wear at the best of times so it's pretty difficult
Donny-gal - perhaps your neighbour would like to offer use of her tumble drier if she has one so that you don't have to hang your washing out. I mean fancy that. Someone drying their washing, on their own land too! What an awful neighbour you must be
Fairy Elephant - crossing my fingers for you and your H. I really hope this is third time lucky for you hug

Morning.:o
Well got DS's result from the University. He's failed.38%, and he had to get 50% or above. He's guted, as he thought he'd done okay. There is a revision day and re-sit. But he will have to go up again twice for that, and he's refusing to go. Don't know what to do with him now, he was so looking forward to it. We've got the finance sorted out, and he's arranged to live with his Dad. He says he's still going to live with Dad and will get a job, but I don't want him to do that.
He's really wanted this sincehe was 12, and I'm at a loss to know what to do next.
Any advice?I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Aww, Hilstep, so sorry for your son. I've no proper advice except to give him a big hug and maybe wait a day or two before deciding anything. Good luck.0

Hillstep sorry to hear DS news maybe suggest he goes to job centre then and looks at jobs available I dont think that he will be too impressed maybe his dad could say i am happy to support you at uni but if you get a job then this is what i will expect you to contribute to the house making sure that the figures are a little un realistic. I am sure that you may not even need to use this as he is probably devastated and needs a day or two to come round lots of attention and love and i am sure things will sort themselves out
Hugs to you all0 -
HS 2000 i'm sorry he didn't get the grades, hope he changes his mind about the resits...

Awh Hillstep...Sorry to hear about DS, maybe once he's had a couple of days to get over initial shock of it he'll decide to re-sit. My DS1 is doing his last GCSE today, Science. I so want him to succeed and get the grades he needs to but at the back of my mind I do fear he'll fail. He only needs grade C in Science to get into college but I'd like him to have c's in english and maths as well, just to help out a bit in the future if nothing else.
N9eav...I'm intrigued as well, hope it was well worth giving up your day off for.
DG... I remembe rsome years ago my dad got a sill xmas pressie from mum via Ann Summers...it was a crocodile pose-ing pouch! haha I can still remember the look on his face as he opened it in front of me and my lttle brother! Maybe you should get one of those to hang on your line.
Elona...PLEASE can youpost/pm me the recipe for sweet potato burgers.
Well, I'm working today so not much OS doing at home, sausage & chips 4 tea. Have tempted the rain by putting a load of washing out but I'll be popping home at lunchtime so will get in if needs to.Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -

Any advice?
Having been there with DS1, I would suggest he speaks to his personal tutor ASAP, and has a "frank cards-on-the-table" chat with them about carrying on - it may be that he has the ability & it is worth him resitting (especially if he only slipped on one particular module) or that he is better to cut his losses & find a job.
However, and I don't want to put a damper on your son's plans, but DS1 has done 2-years of 2 different degrees, and is now signing on as he cannot find a job in Leeds.0 -
Sorry to hear about your son hillstep. Let the dust settle, he might change his mind about the re sit. This is not the same, but during my first year at uni I failed some work so miserably that I had to re submit and would have been out if they did not pass second time. I can honestly say for the rest of my course and the next time I was at uni, the fail I had at the beginning made me aware of how much I wanted to pass, and I worked all the harder.0

Donny-gal your neighbour is a pain in the @rse ! I would extend my washing line as far into her view as i possibly could
Diva how have you got on at the dentist? hope you are pain free now
Hilstep thats bad new for DS, difficult to know where to go from here. do they have some career advisors?
had some sad news today , a friend at work's son had commited suicide over the weekend. he was 18, they had no inclination that anything was wrong at all. his mum had gone out to help the younger son with his paper round and came back to find him ( he hung himself ) - absolutely tragic0 -
Sistercas How awful for the young man & his family. They are in my prayers.0
